Responsibilities:
Supervised from the field, the construction of projects in accordance with design, budget, scheduling and overall objectives
Act as point of contact; manager, coordinator and motivator to sub-contractors, and vendors on project in the field
Enforce compliance with all project procedures, safety programs, and work rules
Act as point of contact with architects, consultants, and local government officials on project in the field
Conduct regular on-site meetings in the field with sub-contractors, vendors, and others as appropriate with respect to schedule, safety issues, and other matters relating to performance
The timely preparation of field reports (i.e. daily superintendent reports, safety reports, etc.) and distribute them to the office.
Ensure the utmost quality of construction throughout a project
Monitor sub-contractor progress and ensure manpower is adequate in order to meet project schedule
Prepare as necessary sub-contractor work schedules and provide input to the project manager, in preparing and updating project construction schedule to jointly ensure timely completion
Participate in pre-construction planning; including logistics, means, and methods, bids, scope review and project estimates.
Maintain an up to date set of contract documents on-site
Responsible for the organization, the establishment and maintenance of the on-site field office to project a professional image including site (organized, clean, security, signage etc.)
Complete punch list items in a time frame consistent with schedule requirements and the project schedule
Perform multiple daily walks of project to assess progression and ensure quality
Respond with clarity to sub-contractors with respect to questions regarding the performance of their work
Ensure site security (i.e. fencing, public safety, open and lock –up procedures etc.)
Company on-site personnel merit performance reviews.
Ensure that transition reports are valid and completed
