Responsible for downloading, decrypting, and validating data from client sources for use in report programs.

Responsible for running and updating SAS programs to handle generation of data sets and copying data to SQL files. Files are used for mailing satisfaction surveys to auto purchasers for multiple clients and multiple times in service.

Responsible for updating and running survey response rate reports for use by project staff in dealing with automotive clients.

April 2012 – May 2013 Ford Motor Credit Corporation (FMCC) (Contract w/ DPM) SAS Programmer

Created SAS programs on an IBM mainframe to generate master files of Ford credit data for use by FMCC employees. Also created extracts of the master files in SAS CPORT format for transport to the Linux environment. Used PROC FREQ and PROC UNIVARIATE to check validity of data and for future reference.

After FTP’ing SAS files to Linux, used SAS Enterprise Guide to perform transformations in SAS on the CPORT format data to reformat and restructure data. Then used PROC SQL to FASTLOAD data into Teradata tables. Ran PROC FREQ and PROC UNIVARIATE code to perform validity checks on transformed data.

Created improvements to existing SAS code to bring about greater efficiency and accuracy.

August, 2011 – April 2012 Physicians’ Health Plan/Sparrow Hospital (Contract w/ MRI) SAS Programmer

Using SAS Enterprise Guide, tested dozens of SAS programs to verify programs were running correctly for database changeover from Facets 4.21 to Facets 4.81. Made necessary changes to accommodate cases where variables changed names or were eliminated. Documented all changes and coordinated with other programmers doing testing.

Provided SAS support and assistance to other members of IT department.

Assumed primary responsibility for managing continuing requests for special ad hoc reports recording requests in MS Access database, assigning responsibility for creating reports, tracking completion and requestor approval.

Modified reports as originally created to make it possible to send reports to corporate shared drive, thus making them more accessible and also saving paper and eliminating redundant distribution. Reports involved SAS programming including accessing DB2 tables with SAS PROC SQL and SAS Macro language.

Using SAS, created demographic analyses of AAA renewing vs. non-renewing members in order to determine demographic groups that would receive targeted AAA renewal information and incentives.

Ran high-visibility reports for Finance department on a monthly basis. Modified programs to select out desired reports and transfer to PC shared drive.

Worked from minimal specifications and under very tight deadline to develop a series of reports to be distributed to thousands of physicians in SE Michigan, determining the disbursement of several millions of dollars in incentive funds. The programs generating these reports entailed over 4,000 lines of SAS code.
