Mentor and advocate for Private Sector Development Directorate on enhancing business development, implementing a strategic marketing plan, enticing regional business investment and escalating the bi-annual AG Fair and Family Festivals to reach farmers from 34 provinces. Collaborated international business development and marketing support for 5 Regional and Women’s Cooperatives in coordination with Afghan Ministries Deputy Ministers and numerous Program Directors. This initiative helped expand depth and breadth of existing relationships to gain strategic positioning as well as retain existing business through grants, increasing product visibility and supporting the value chain.

Key member of USAID transition team, international liaison with Afghan Ministries and facilitator of bilateral cooperation and communication between ISAF and Afghan Ministries. This action evolved into AG Policy Working Group (APWG) assimilating the project of writing transition procedures for Ministries, which evolved into Ministries taking the lead in writing procedures with guidance from the APWG. The framework was approved by the Minister and is now implemented in support of US Government, prime contractors and foreign clients.

Continuous collaboration with international military and regional development advisers from 48 nations to coordinate with Afghan HR department, Minister and ISAF in addressing provincial staffing, training and gender issues in 368 districts, by request from Provincial and District Governors, and to clarify Afghan Ministry funding and budgeting questions. My inquiries instigated the Afghan Ministry’s HR Director to start an investigation, which resulted in coordination with the Ministry of Interior to resolve provincial issues.

Principle link of ISAF Commander for communication, exchange and interaction processes between high-level military, local and International Governmental and diplomatic authorities; and key ISAF representative in meetings, conferences and training programs with DOD and 32 governments, thus establishing long term customer relationships relations and coordination of long-term strategic objectives.

Engagement with Ministers, Private Board of Directors, Non-Government Organizations and Afghan Government staff to initiate campaigns to end corruption starting with private sector business owners proving transparency, and then challenging other business owners, then the AF Gov to show their transparency to all.

Supported the office of His Excellency Minister on international, economic & business development, program management & coordination via speech writing, and sensitive document analysis and composition. This ensured decisive and diplomatic messages for all outputs and conveyed a consistent proprietary message to all stakeholders, which aligned with the reporting requirements of donor programs and of the Parliament of Afghanistan.

Mentored HR Directorate and Organizational Development team in preparing the ‘Capacity Building for Results (CBR) Application’, then the follow on ‘CBR Proposal’ for submission to the Ministry of Finance. MAIL’s CBR proposal was officially accepted and was told the reason their application and proposal were accepted at the highest level was due to the professional content, appearance and presentation of both the application and proposals. With my suggestion, MAIL will use CBR funds to continue training programs in 34 provinces affecting 2748 employees supported under the HR Directorate.

Drove partnerships through executive relationships with Chief Counselors, Country Directors, Team Leads and Chief of Parties for 14 donor agencies, 13 implementing partners and the international community. Also engaged with and facilitated collaboration between MAIL and numerous donors to encourage linkages to Afghan priorities and strategic objectives, and generate revenue opportunities.

Facilitated inter-organizational knowledge management & business development collaboration between Ministries, 27 international donor and partner organizations, NATO and United Nations Organizations to identify opportunities for regional synergism, cost savings and enhanced global practices; and to review and assess programs to identify strengths, weaknesses and causes of ineffectiveness and write process improvement plans.
