i.EXPANSION AND COMPLETION OF BAGWAI (WATARI DAM) IRRIGATION SCHEME.

RESIDENT ENGINEER: (Nov 2011 – April 2013)

Client: Federal Ministry of Water Resource

Location: Bagwai Kano State

Involment: This project involves Review of Engineering Design; Resident Supervision and Management; Construction and Completion of partly executed and abandoned Earth Dam, and irrigation/drainage system for about 790 hectares of irrigable land. Main components of works include: Rehabilitation works on Bagwai Dam embankment and head works; Main Supply Canal; Access Road as well as completion of Main Canal, Regulators, Silt Traps, Side Spillways, Office & Residential Buildings, Inverted Siphons, Inspector Drains, and Turn-Outs. The socio-economic aspect included advisory services to over 300 beneficiary farmers in relation with sustainable farming practices/irrigation systems, input sourcing & utilization, post-harvest and marketing strategies.
