JOB DESCRIPTION
FOOD HYGIENE SUPERVISOR
Position Summary
To ensure that Department practices are in accordance with established food safety rules and standards; maintain a healthy and safe environment for food preparation, handling and distribution
Principal Accountabilities
Demonstrate knowledge and application of HMC mission, vision, and values
Ensure that food handling practices are within acceptable standards
Enforce food safety rules in the work area
Analyze and recommend effective measures to prevent food contamination
Countercheck temperature of all equipment (hot and cold), including humidity
Monitor cleaning and disinfection of all equipment and kitchen premises
Supervise pest control activities
Investigate complaints arising from food contamination due to improper handling
Investigate and take necessary action in case of food poisoning or outbreak of food-borne illness
Implement measures to avoid food spoilage and wastage and ensure proper waste disposal
Ensure that staff observes personal hygiene and proper decorum
Refer sick personnel (food handlers), especially those with diarrhea, to the staff clinic and recommend
temporary removal from work in food preparation
Coordinate with other departments on matters concerning food safety
PHLEBOTOMIST/MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST/GENERALIST
HEMATOLOGY SECTION
Process and draw blood specimen for Hematological analysis.
Performs differential white blood cell count, platelet count, reticulocyte count, blood indices and scan blood smear for malarial parasites.
Performs complete blood count using fully automated hematological Analyzer and manual method when necessary specially cell counts on body fluids.
Do other test in hematology like Erythrocyte sedimentation rate, clotting time and bleeding time and other.
CLINICAL CHEMISTRY
Performs chemical analysis on blood for lipids, enzymes, electrolytes and sugar including chemical test for RENAL, LIVER, CARDIAC function as well as chemical test for urine, CSF, and other body fluids. Test are done using semi-automated and fully automated blood chemistry analyzer.
Performs Quality control procedures, updates procedures and check supplies.
Statistical report including work load in values, number tests done and costing.
Does Quality control chart for monthly inventory report analysis. Does monthly census of all test done and monthly inventory in all reagent.
Does quality standard procedure to ensure the quality of the test.
IMMUNOLOGY SECTION
Extract and process blood specimen for immunology testing
Do all THYROID function test (T3, T4, TsH, FT3, FT4)
Do all HEPATITIS PROFILE.
Do all Tumor Marker Test
BLOOD BANKING AND SEROLOGY
Performs blood typing/grouping and CROSSMATCHING.
Conduct serological test like WIDAL, TYPHIDOT, ASO TITER, C-REATIVE PROTEIN, RPR, and others.
Interview, selects and screen donors for HbsAG, HEPATITIS C, SYPHILIS, HIV AND MALARIA.
Bleeds eligible donors and does massive blood donation bleeding.
CLINICAL MICROSCOPY SECTION
Performs Physical and Chemical test on the urine specimen.
Identifies urine sediments microscopically.
Does fertility testing like pregnancy test and SEMINAL FLUID analysis.
Does other body fluids analysis.
PARASITOLOGY SECTION
Performs Physical examination on stool.
Identifies parasite such as protozoa and helminthes on the stool specimen.
Performs chemical test like occult blood for stool.
MICROBIOLOGY
Process specimen for bacteriologic and fungal analysis.
Identifies different microorganism and fungal element from smear.
Performs different biochemical test to confirm the identity of microorganism from culture.
Prepares all kind of media for bacterial culture, identification and sensitivity testing.
Sterilizes media and other materials for microbiological testing.
Does antibiotic sensitivity testing to an isolated organism to aid in the treatment of diseases.
OTHERS
Maintains quality control on the reagents and equipments.
Prepares monthly inventory on supplies and reagents.
Expertise on PHLEBOTOMY and other methods of specimen collection for laboratory testing.
