Operations and Project Manager
Launched new business unit in Houston, TX. Led the implementation of a new steel drum operation from the ground up. Scope included conceptual and process development, site and building construction, equipment procurement, raw material and component sourcing, logistics planning, talent acquisition and training, regulatory compliance, site commissioning, and implementing industry best practices.
Support the daily operations of ten plant locations across eight states. Monitor and report to the CEO and the international management board on KPI’s for the operation of two steel service centers and eight plastics production facilities.
Create 1 to 3 year strategic plans to improve market reach and develop sustainable growth plans. Coordinate with sales teams to validate investment opportunities through detailed ROI analysis, risk assessments, and market analysis.
Led disaster recovery effort after plant fire. Coordinated the shift of production orders to minimize the impact to customers. Met with local and state regulatory and emergency service personnel to establish root cause and implement remediation efforts. Prepared the detail inventory of damages and recovery plan including the loss statement to our insurer. Implemented interim process solution 8-weeks after the event. Establish new operating practices to recognize hazards and prevent future incidents.
Developed live plant metrics system at the assembly lines. Enabling the live assessment of plant performance of all US locations. Creating transparency of activity at the plant level and enabling customer service to react to fluctuating customer demands by being able to see order slot availability instantly.
Established standard work practices across all business units, reducing waste and enabling the rapid development of new hires.
Train plant managers in multiple process improvement methodologies, direct the process improvement activities and empower all levels of the organization. Examples have included Value Added Idea program, Kaizan events, 5S and Lean manufacturing initiatives.

Successfully executed over $400MM in capital improvements. Built 635,000 square feet of manufacturing, warehouse, and office space. Expanded infrastructure by installing high voltage power, 2210 tons of chiller capacity and 1900 HP of compressed air capacity.
Increased available injection molding and blow molding capacity by 172% in three years. Built new world class manufacturing facility in Georgia. Launched expansion sites in California, North Carolina, and Missouri. Missouri plant achieved new company benchmark by producing finished goods within 6 months of the land acquisition.
Built 100,000 square foot steel service center. Vertically integrating the production of parts through the installation of high speed tube mills and multiple 800-ton presses, doubling component production capacity and reducing part costs by 25%, net savings of 2.1MM annually.
Installed 4800 feet of onsite rail service, including multiple switches and interior rail car unloading, enabling the storage of 20+ rail cars, rail car switching, and reducing the delivery cost of resin by half while improving material supply positions.
Integrated robotic drum handling, reducing drum production cycle rate by 18 seconds, creating a direct labor savings of $480,000 annually, and reducing scrap rate by 90%.
Ensure regulatory compliance at each manufacturing locations. Monitor and support the operational personnel with the ongoing efforts of meeting and exceeding OSHA, DOT, ISO, & Food Safety standards. Train site personnel on observational safety.
Chanel, Piscataway, NJ 2010 to 2011
$B Global Consumer Products Manufacturer
Engineering and Maintenance Manager
Supported the production of fragrance and beauty products. Coordinated with blending and formulation department to maintain material supply and quality of inventory. Managed the filling, assembly, primary packaging and case packing of all products manufactured at the Piscataway location.
Lead simultaneous company initiatives. Providing a structure for the continuous development of all manufacturing personnel, enabling self-directed work teams with minimal supervisor direction and ultimately increasing production line utilization. Applied Emotional Intelligence to develop talent and foster growth.
Integrated and managed a robust maintenance program. Implementation of a continuous reliability maintenance program, eliminating equipment related downtime within the first six months. Utilized the SAP PM module to automate the issuance and tracking of all preventative maintenance work orders.
Improved production OEE by 21% while reducing quality defects and reducing direct labor cost by over 25% through the implementation of an automated data acquisition system and all production lines.
Reduced toiletry manufacturing footprint by 30%, reduced transportation distance for component delivery by over 200ft, and reduced material handler direct labor hours by 50%.
Eliminated 100% of major equipment failures through implementation of a robust continuous reliability program.
