Caching and Iterative Applications over Albatross Chicago, IL July 2016 • Developed a large scale distributed system that uses a push based map reduce architecture, the project was done under the guidance of Prof Ioan Raicu.

• A Caching layer was developed which helped to store intermediate results of map reduce task so that they can be used in further iterations.

• Developed support for iterative logistic regression which was run up to 50 iteration with a data of 320GB distributed over 64 AWS nodes and performance was compared to that of Hadoop and Spark. Jan 2016- Sort Benchmark Chicago, IL

April 2016 • A largescale data sorting benchmark developed in Java run on Amazon EC2 based cluster to check performance for sorting of the dataset.

• Performance of the sort benchmark was also compared to Hadoop and Spark sorting performance by deploying them on EC2 based cluster which involved low level system configs like setting up RAIDS and parallel-ssh to other instances.

May 2016- VenueMatch Chicago, IL

Aug 2016 • Developed a messaging app which allows venue owners to communicate with potential customers and share details about their venues, while working as volunteer at VenueMatch LLC.

• Created a mechanism by which the potential customers could making a booking request for a venue by entering their payment credentials and the payment will only be processed once the venue owner approves. June 2015- Database System Chicago, IL

Dec 2015 • Application developed in C that emulates all the function implemented by a full-fledged SQL based database system which stores relational schema based rows in files.

• Developed major function which involved reading from memory, caching of data and indexing the same, tested the program with simple SQL operations like join and merge
