I drew out Network Topology with in Visio Including wiring schematics, which addresses network nodes, adjacencies, to switches, routers and firewalls illustrating how they all interconnected, with floor plans and data flow diagrams. I also implemented an Excel spreadsheet, for server control, which organizes, makes, models, types, Function, with IP addresses, switches, patch panels, routers and firewalls including server port assignments and IP control documents.
I Implemented a backup regiment with documentation include GFS tape rotation consisting of 10 LTO4 tapes, Symantec’s Backup Exec.12.5
-Symantec Corporation, Software Manufacturing Heathrow, FL February 2000 - August 2008
Senior IT Support Analyst Engineer
Effectively build/supported 800+ Windows workstations, application, configuration and system problems.
Developed, implemented and process re-images of workstations from CD-ROM.
Posted outstanding yearly evaluations consistently outperforming colleague Technician Team.
Produced reports in Excel from running queries in Remedy CRM for management
Traced ports on Cisco 3rd Level Switches for infected systems effectively clean virus and mal-ware from organizational computer systems, re-enabled ports.
I was instrumental in realizing the short comings of a Software tool called Kevlar used for LAN
Troubleshoot and replaced parts (blades and power supplies) of Cisco Catalyst 2950 - 6000 and acted as liaison for Cisco warranty repair. Was hands-on for network outages and on-calls. All changes and upgrades were change-controlled process team oriented, of which I was our sites hands –on tech. I would setup communication closest with UPS’s, wiring, and created spreadsheets with the supporting documentation for the site, match the wiring to a floor plan of all network drops.
Symantec’s Software migration from Office 2003 Professional to Office Professional Plus 2007. I researched an add-in for Office 2007 which would install an Office 2003 toolbar inside the Office 2007 toolbar. Offsetting high cost of retraining.
The Symantec’s mailroom switched to using PDA devices to deliver and track mail to and from their employees. These devices are cradled to an old desktop system which uses SQL to uplink to a server. The problem was the high cost of $2000.00 per hour, for migration of the proprietary software. I had the knowledge and Symantec’s Ghost. SQL settings to modify correct settings. The re-linking of the desktop settings back to SQL database permissions, saving thousands of dollars in third party support costs.
