Calvary Scout entailed obtaining, distributing, and sharing of vital combat and
battlefield information on the enemy, combat circumstances and environmental
conditions. This would be reported to the Commander. A Cavalry Scout is also
known as the "eyes and ears" of the Army.
After attending Basic Training/ Advanced Individual Training, Fort Benning
Georgia, was assigned to an Infantry Unit at Fort Riley Kansas. Started as a driver
for a HMMWV crew. Attended NTC (National Training Center) to train for
deployment to Kuwait. While in Kuwait, served two missions to Baghdad, Iraq.
After serving in Kuwait, was promoted to a gunner. As a M2 gunner, scored 844
points out of possible 1000 points and was awarded Sharpshooter.
During enlistment participated in WAREX (Warrior Exercise). Assisted with the
annual training of National Guard and Reserve Units at Fort Hunter Liggett in
California.

Volunteer Activities
Between the years 2013-2016 while serving in the US Army, volunteer activities
included:
Crosswalk: Went to a Public Elementary School, talked and interacted with the
students. Completed a mile walk with the students of the Elementary School.
Apple Day Festival: Assisted with the available parking and the directions to the Apple
Day Festival entrance.
Field Day at Fort Riley's Elementary School: Assisted with the games and activities
with the students.
Halloween Parade: Passed out candy to the kids in attendance at the Halloween
Parade.
Kansas State University; Supported the KSU game against Baylor University. This
included doing push-ups for every touchdown that KSU scored and flag detail.
