Work History:
Owner: Spot-On Target Marketing, Rock Island, IL
I started this company in September of 2013. The company sets-up partnerships with Fitness Centers, Bowling Alleys and Golf Courses across the United States. For agreeing to the partnerships, the facilities receive promotional items to hand out to members, free of charge. The reason the items are free is because we sell advertising on the products to businesses that are in close proximity to the facility and that want to capitalize on the opportunity to network with other businesses, and be seen in front of the facilities membership.
In my role as owner, I have had my hands in everything; cleaning the office, repairing whatever wasn’t working, payroll, graphic arts, sales, customer service, grounds maintenance, HR duties, etc.
Supervisor: Midland Information Resources, Davenport IA
I was hired as the 2nd shift digital logistics and production supervisor in March of 2007 and remained with Midland until January of 2013. The company was sold in December of 2012 and I lost my job the following month as the company restructured.
In my role as the supervisor, I had direct supervision over 12 employees and indirect supervision over 30 employees. The departments I supervised were the digital logistics area (computers), printing CD’s, printing large format schematics, and the printing department, consisting of high-speed digital copiers/printers, high-speed roll-fed printers, and a four-color digital press. During times of need, I operated or assisted on all high speed printers and copiers, and also worked in the bindery helping with cutters, book binders, shrink wrap and the collators. As a supervisor I also was a member of the safety team.
Team Lead, Royal Neighbors of America, Rock Island, IL
I started at RNA in March of 1986 as a cameraman in the printing department with duties in the pre-press department. In 1994 I was promoted to the Team Lead position in Document Management Department. In my capacity as Team Lead, I supervised 3 other employees and acted as the lead man for the rest of the building whenever printing was needed. I had to decide which projects we would print in-house and which projects would be outsourced to other companies. Projects varied from company Christmas cards to brochures to the Company magazine which was mailed out quarterly to all 200,000 RNA members. I met with different vendors and approved printing contracts for these projects, and followed them through to completion.
In 2006, RNA brought in a new president and all new Sr. Managers to lead the company. It was decided that my position was no longer needed and I was terminated.
