Clinical Internship Experience
Medical Dosimetry (2012-2014)
12-month internship divided between 2 facilities:
Central DuPage Hospital Photon Center where I was trained on Eclipse 10.0 and TomoTherapy treatment planning softwares, Mosaiq, and RadCalc
oTreatment tactics included IMRT, IGRT, CBCT, MVCT, 4D scanning, RapidArc therapy and TomoTherapy using Varian Trilogy and TomoTherapy machines
oObservation and assistance with physics on the Brainlab treatment planning system for SRS and SRT, Delta4, BeamChecker Plus and Varian’s VariSource iX Afterloader
oCreating, developing, and verifying radiation treatment plans in conjunction with the Radiation Oncologist for external beam, SRS, and brachytherapy treatments
oCT, MRI, PET, PET/CT based plans, with multimodality fusion
oElectronic and paper documentation to ensure proper treatment delivery
oCoordination of patient treatment plans within Information Management system

oHere I was introduced to the Eclipse treatment planning system during my first dosimetry rotation and to both the Varian EX and Varian IX during my two treatment rotations.
oThe Kirklin Clinic at Acton Road
oI was thoroughly introduced to both Eclipse and TomoTherapy treatment planning systems during one dosimetry rotation and one treatment rotation. During treatment I was trained on both TomoTherapy and a Varian EX.

With the use of Phillips technology, simulating patients using technologies such as 4D, gating, SAVI, Senorx, vaginal cylinders, and Cyberknife, all for their uses in brain, lung, abdominal, GYN, and APBI treatments.
