Function as a problem solver and troubleshooter during the underwriting process. Function as an “issue identifier” throughout the process, ensuring that there are no last minute surprises that could have been noted earlier in the process. Assign tasks and specific work assignments to Team Members and follow up constantly. Act as a player/coach - ensure appropriate distribution of work between Analysts, and Underwriters. Interact with team members daily in prioritization of day-to-day activities of all members of the team. Provide guidance and training to Underwriters and Analysts. Analyst training over time should allow that person to be eventually equipped with the skills and experience necessary to become an Underwriter.

Mortgage Underwriting Consultant

Being self- employed during this time, From Feb of 2008 thru Dec 2011. I was contracted through the banks mortgage divisions as an underwriter. The clients were: Bank of America, Chase, CITI, Flagstar, Wells Fargo, and Affiliated Bank. During this time, I underwrote loans for these clients during this time with and average loan submission for each client of 5 loans per day, which gave me on average 30 loans per day. I underwrote conforming and non-conforming loans; Jumbo, and conventional loans to most all Fannie and Freddie Products as well as to specific investor guidelines. I also manually underwrote loans for all of the clients. I hold a signing authority of up to 2 million dollars. In addition to contract underwriting services, from March of 2009- Dec 2011; I began to perform QC audits for Bank of America, Chase and Wells Fargo for their investor division on pools of loans or individual loans they were considering for purchase and provided audit results and feedback on those loans and provided notice of repurchase to the loans that did not qualify or were deficient on documentation and elevated risk factors.
