THERAPEUTIC SUPPORT STAFF (TSS) Children’s Behavioral Health
The Therapeutic Support Staff (TSS), working under direction and supervision of a Behavioral Specialist and/or Mobile Therapist, provides individualized interventions to a child or adolescent in settings other than a provider agency or office, when without this intervention they would require a more restrictive treatment or educational setting. The Therapeutic Support Staff specifically follows the treatment plan designed by the Behavioral Specialist and/or Mobile Therapist. Interventions provided will involve specific efforts to stabilize the child or adolescent, work with the family to guide and support their efforts in stabilizing the child or adolescent and promoting of appropriate behavior, as well as collaboration with other involved professionals and agencies in order to provide unified services and continuity of care to child and family. Interventions are strength based, and respect the socio-cultural background of the client and family. Follow treatment plan developed by Behavioral Specialist and/or Mobile Therapist, and participate in weekly supervision around treatment plan goals and delivery of services. Provide one-on-one, strength-based interventions to a child or adolescent in settings other than a provider agency or office. Specific services can include, but are not limited to crisis intervention techniques, immediate behavioral reinforcements, emotional support, time structuring activities, time-out strategies, and additional psychosocial rehabilitative activities as prescribed in the treatment plan. Provide guidance and support to family in their efforts in stabilizing the child or adolescent and promoting of appropriate behavior, to facilitate with transfer of skills to caregiver(s). Document with accuracy interventions provided, including data collected about frequent and intensity of targeted behaviors, as per treatment plan.

The Family Resource Professional offers assistance to families requiring intense services due to the significant primary concerns that threaten the safety and well being of children in the family as well as family members.
