May 2016 – present – I am a FNP-C working two to three times a month at a local urgent treatment center.
September 2015 – present. I am a surgical first assistant providing services to physicians specializing in robotics, vascular, general, orthopedics, gynecology and bariatric surgery.
Nov 2009-Oct. 2014 at Ephraim McDowell Medical Center- OR Staff Nurse and ED Staff Nurse. I assisted all surgeons including general, orthopedics, spine and particularly PV MD. I also trained new staff, provided and developed staff educational material, working collaboratively with numerous staff on several committees over this time while chairing the annual report in 2013.
Oct. 2008-Aug.2009- Alpha Nursing Service at LSUHSC in Shreveport, La- OR Staff Nurse. Worked all specialties in this level one trauma center including cardiac bypass brain aneurysm, large head and neck tumor reconstruction, the list is extensive.
Sep2002-Oct.2007-Christus Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport, La. – OR Staff RNFA. Worked all areas to include eyes, GYN, orthopedics, general, GU, plastics, gastrointestinal, and CV/PV. I was charge nurse on second shift for a year then trained as first assistant on the DaVinci Robot for several specialties including urology, pediatrics, and OBGYN. I also assisted and scrubbed orthopedics, general surgery, plastics and gastroenterology.
May 1991-Sep.2002- Staff RN ED- Christus Schumpert, certified in TNCC, ENPC, ACLS, CEN, PALS and PALS instructor within the first two years after graduating nursing school. Charge nurse on second shift for 1 year.
