My position reports to the Head, Purchasing and Supply Chain for North America. Primary accountability for logistics of imports/exports, third-party sourcing and NA transportation (TL, LTL, parcel), including FDA and USDA port releases.
Responsible for procurement of packaging, labeling and chemicals for Sun Pharma.
Saved $600,000 in LTL/TL shipping costs by leading reverse auctions using Ariba software platform.
Planned and implemented successful logistics for the $600 million launch of first-to-file generic Atorvastatin in U.S., including imports of active ingredients and finished product from multiple global locations (India, Germany, China).
Managed master data file creation and maintenance for global SAP systems, including MM (material master).
Revalidated OHM Sun Pharma sites as C-TPAT Tier 3 companies with CBP (Customs Border Protection), which included on-site audits by agents at manufacturing sites near Mumbai, India. North American facilities were also audited, with Tier 3 approvals resulting in faster Customs approvals and fewer inspections.
Planned and implemented logistics network for NDA and ANDA products as new FDA approvals are gained by OHM Sun Pharma companies.

Managed global transportation including air, ocean, rail and highway for a $4 billion per year chemical business. Responsible for shipping, distribution and slurry make down of 1.3 million metric tons per year of kaolin clay and specialty pigment products. Scope of transportation transactions included 30,000 ocean containers, 650,000 metric tons of bulk ocean shipping, a rail fleet containing 1,800 cars and 50,000 highway (TL and LTL) moves and air shipments.
Designed and implemented a certified and audited CTPAT program for all international shipments.
Improved customer service by building an integrated supply chain including procurement, order entry, pricing and distribution for the $750 million Appearance and Performance Technologies business group with products based on kaolin clay, mica, attapulgite, colors and effects pigments.
Redesigned contract negotiations by implementing new processes for a $250 million per year logistics budget including services, major transportation modes, warehousing and packaging.
