Summary
I acquired an internship at a wind energy company in which I received real-world experience under the guidance of a knowledgeable senior engineer. I learned valuable aspects of being a successful engineer from my employer. Along with working, I studied mechanical engineering at West Texas A&M University as it best complimented my proficiency in math and enjoyment of design. I worked with both individuals and teams to design and implement projects into functioning systems. During my free time, I designed, built, and sold tile/wood items.
Work Experience

Responsible for generating wind contour maps and graphs for future wind turbine farm using GIS software. Recorded wind data from meteorological towers and reported any anomalies that arose. Physically repaired wind speed sensors on met towers. Efficiently located and mapped land encumbrances necessary for location of future turbines. Assisted in determining wind turbine locations for future wind farm based on predominant wind direction, land classification, and average wind speeds.

Thermo-Fluid/Mechanical Design
School Experience
Senior Design Course: Four Wheeler Conversion Kit
Designed and implemented a hydrogen conversion kit for a 1-cylinder, 4-stroke, carbureted four wheeler. Majority of the theory was based on combustion which required experimental performance data and outside research.
Thermo-Fluid Design Course: Heat Exchanger System
Appointed group leader for my senior thermo-fluid design which consisted of building a system to test the performance of a tube-fin heat exchanger using water with and without nanoparticles. My professor expressed I had the dedication, knowledge, and leadership skills to guide the class.
Machine Design Course: Rotating Target System
Consisted of designing and constructing a rotating target system for the Canyon Police Department. A linear electric actuator allowed the target to rotate and timed relays controlled the time duration the target faced the shooter.
Organizations
American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Kappa Alpha Order
Interests and Achievements
Attributes
I have always had an interest in how things work. Over the years, I have excelled in Math, Science, and English more so than any other subjects. I enjoy undertaking difficult projects to learn more and further improve myself. I tutored both college and high school students in math and science throughout my time in college.
I am familiar and experienced with drafting/mathematical software such as AutoCAD, ANSYS, and MATLAB. I am excellent with hands-on and detailed oriented tasks. Honesty and integrity are very important to me. I work well with groups and have experience in completing projects within a specified time frame.
Volunteer Experience
Every Tuesday, during my time in school, I volunteered my time and effort to Evelyn Rivers’ Christmas Charity for kids who don’t receive gifts during Christmas. Also, I helped plan and execute a weight-lifting competition to raise money for the MDA.
