Ø Pre OP Nurse: Greeting and Receiving

patients from other units, ensuring that all

documents needed such as informed consent,

history, physical, VTE Form & Time Out Form is

completed prior to surgery. Hand over patient to

circulating nurse.

Ø Circulating Nurse: Is vital to the provision of

care that includes but is not limited to:

Application of the nursing process in

directing & coordinating all activities

related to the care and support of the

patient in the OR.

asepsis technique unit IPP's.

handling over the required surgical

emotional and physical status before,

Handle tasks of collecting supplies

before surgery, setting up the sterile

surgery.

Responsible for counting sponges,

sharps and instruments throughout the

operation.

Ensure the operation room is well

cleaned and organized and well

equipped with functioning devices and

appropriate stocks as in the relevant

standardized criteria’s and IPP's.

surgical hand scrubbing, gowning and
