PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Data Warehouse Architect, Imagine Software, Inc., NY
05/2011 – 08/2016
Architected, designed, developed, introduced into production and maintained Risk Aggregation Data Warehouse product.
oFor an overall description and demo please see: http://www.derivatives.com/riskagg
Considerably enhanced and applied the concepts and principles outlined in original research by Jacob Peysakh in 2005 paper "Temporal Data Model Architecture" to the architect, design, and customization of the Risk Aggregation (RA) bi-temporal Data Warehouse product. Instrumental in sales and web-based public-demos of RA product to existing and prospect clients.
Single handedly developed, programmed in T-SQL, QA/UAT tested, introduced into production practice and maintained a fully functional, industrial strength, highly scalable multi-tenant DW RA (with “Chinese Wall” guaranteed separation of tenant’s private data) environment for Portfolio & Risk Managers, Hedge Funds, Managed Accounts & Fund of Funds clients. Designed and implemented bi-temporal role-based data & functionality provisioning - a multi-dimensional cube, with drill-down/up/across and data mining and patterns discovery & identification ability from aggregated Risk Metrics down to Position Level Transparency in 11 major aggregation dimensions (Portfolio/Fund, Asset Class/Security Type, GICS (all 4 levels), Region/Country, Credit Rating) and 13 additional FI instruments specific dimensions.
Designed, developed and implemented in production all of the database side software for the RA DW. (Sybase ASE 15.7, Linux), including end-to-end automated ETL processes for 20+ data streams upload into the DW (with rule-based data quality verification & exceptions capturing, reporting engine and with pre-determined auto-fix ability learn engine to handle up to 97% of data quality, integrity and discrepancy issues automatically) and RA Portal Data Visualization (Panopticon/Datawatch) and Reporting (Crystal Reports) functionality.
Designed and implemented fully functional Workflow Management subsystem, as well as the Data Publishing Workflow in a live-system with simultaneous real-time data feeds and uploads and concurrent production client’s access without any noticeable straining of DW technical performance tolerance boundaries and no impact on client’s end-user access experience
Performance tuned server and database components supporting web-based Data Visualization and Reporting by 2+ orders of magnitude. Fully automated & performance tuned referential and operational data upload into the RA DW. Performance tuned multiple areas of Imagine Trading System (ITS) by 2+ orders of magnitude by surgically replacing deep-core common functionality with a considerably better performing SQL code
Significantly enhanced bi-temporal techniques in application to Risk Analytics - mortgage, betas, correlations, data mining / visualization, time-series, returns model, reporting, 3rd party data feeds, etc.
Developed and enhanced numerous Panopticon/Datawatch-based Data Visualization Dashboards. Programmed, in SQL complex mathematics for statistical and risk analytics (beta's & benchmarks, covariance & correlations, tracking error, VaR (including Conditional, Component and Marginal), FX, worse draw-downs, shocks/stresses, Greeks/sensitivities, risk scenarios, portfolio management, returns model, and alike).
