Experience Highlights
BOSTON UNIVERSITY, Boston, MA, 2016 - Present
Research Assistant - Multi-Scale Tissue Biomechanics Laboratory
Designed a multiaxial computer-controlled biomechanical device for human coronary arteries.
The device was aimed to perform pressure-diameter and axial load-length test on human coronary arteries to quantify its mechanical properties. Selected and installed proper transducers, load cells and positioning devices. Implemented and tested luminal pressure/flow control and axial loading/extension control by LabVIEW. Built the 3-D modeling of the biomechanical device using SolidWorks.
SINEVA INTELLIGENT MACHINE CO., LTD., Hefei, Anhui, China, 2014
Mechanical Engineering Intern
Analyzed and revised design drawings (AutoCAD) of newly designed transfer robots to avoid potential issues. Supervised mechanical technicians in the newly established factory in Hefei with senior engineers.
Aided senior engineers to collect documentations. Held meetings with specialists from Japan and Korea and specified the differences among protocals and regulations of different countries. Built 3-D models of designed robots and implemented motion simulations and controls (SolidWorks/C
XI’AN JIAOTONG UNIVERSITY, Xi’an, Shaanxi, China, 2013 - 2014
Research Assistant - School of Mechanical Engineering
Performed research within the field of Kinetics and Thermodynamics analysis of Spindles. Operated the machine tool without error and collected testing data. Used C scripts to develop a toolkit for analyzing kinetics and thermodynamics features of spindles which is based on ANSYS. Debugged the programs.
Projects
A New Robot for Cleaning Glass Curtain Wall (2016) – Helped reduce risks for cleaning skyscrapers by using robot. Controlled robot via L298N modulus by Python scripts programmed on a Raspberry Pi. Completed reading acceleration from ADXL345 accelerometer to detect robot’s position. Designed the motion control mechanisms for the robot by two DC motors.
The Nonlinear Analysis of Turbocharger Rotordynamics Basing on Finite Element Analysis (2014-2015) – Deduced the oil film pressure expressions of floating ring bearing according to the theory of cylindrical bearing Caponne nonlinear oil film force. Established the model of floating ring rotor system and used Runge-Kutta method (MatLab) to calculate the model. Implemented FEA of floating ring rotor system with ANSYS and SolidWorks.
