Senior Design Project with Philadelphia 76ers

University of Delaware, Fall 2016

Goal to develop Heart Rate Monitor to be incorporated into ankle wrap.

Design wearable microcontroller (Arduino FLORA, Pulse Oximeter Sensor) that is able to measure the heart rate of a professional athlete during play to maximize performance.

Data analysis on the athletes performed to differentiate small changes to heart rate to prevent over exertion.

Charles Peter White Fellow: Research with Dr. Michele Lobo

STAR Campus, University of Delaware, Summer 2016

Goal to develop a wearable device/ garment to track the orientation of infants.

Design microcontroller (including Arduino Uno, SD Shield, and Accelerometer) that is able to differentiate the positioning of an infant which in Prone, Supine, Sitting Upright, and Recline.

Data analysis on the infants performed using a Lab view Program that outputs the total time and percent time the infant spends in each position.

Biomechanics Research with Graduate Student Zachary Adams

STAR Campus, University of Delaware, Fall 2015

Goal of ongoing research is to determine which motors in the leg that when firing improperly can be warning signs of early Cerebral Palsy.

Produced data from test subjects, including children with CP, through different advanced techniques including force plates and EMG.

Developed data analysis on patients for proper and improper motor functions of the leg using algorithm that breaks down each individual signal from a cluster of thousands to determine which are significant.
