REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY OF PEEL, PUBLIC WORKS à July 2015 – December 2016

Position: Curbside Representative

Partner with Bylaw Enforcement Officers in the Waste Collection & Processing team in the launch and implementation of the Region of Peel’s bi-weekly cart collection program – the largest in North America.

Educate and engage residents at curbside and at outreach events about municipal bylaws on waste volumes, cart usage and sizes, waste audit procedures, waste reduction work plans and promote various waste minimization programs including the Green Bin program.

Advise residents of Federal, Provincial and Regional environmental laws, regulations and standards in relation to waste management and waste audits.

Supervised contractor teams – through data collection and reporting – on the contracted cart delivery, curbside issues and complaints.

Work flexible hours – including holidays, weekends, early mornings and evenings as required – and work outdoors in all types of weather and physically lift heavy waste set outs (in excess of 45 pounds).

Position: Payroll Coordinator

Prepared timely processing of bi-weekly payroll for union & non-union employees of the Long Term Care and Public Work divisions of the Regional Municipality of Peel.

Processed retroactive payments, statutory holiday entitlements, parental leave top up payments, annual vacation payouts and clothing & tool allowances as per collective agreements.

Analyzed and update sick time for employees in the union sick leave plan in compliance with their collective agreement and perform the same function for employees in the non-union sick leave plan.

Prepared and reconciled all payments made through Accounts Payable such as Family Responsibility Office payments, Garnishments and Employer Health Tax remittances.

Submitted Web ROE (Record of Employment) forms to Service Canada, for the employees of the Regional Municipality of Peel and respond to subsequent HRDC inquiries.

INGRAM MICRO CANADA à July 2002 – May 2010

Position: Payroll Specialist

Prepared monthly HRIS reports for the Executive Management Team for review and maintained reporting charts using appropriate software tools i.e. Crystal Reports in Ceridian and PeopleSoft HRMS.

Researched and implemented process improvements i.e. partnering with Canada Post and Ceridian Canada to introduce electronic pay slips for all employees in the organization.

Audited the PeopleSoft HRIS system - to ensure quality assurance of the data - sent to Payroll i.e. verifying compensation data, demographic data and SIN numbers of employees.

Worked with Corporate Payroll and Human Resources in the US to roll out the Kronos Workforce Central – Time & Attendance module for all salaried employees in Canada.

Developed customized Kronos Time & Attendance manuals for all department managers, keeping in mind the organization’s policies and procedures and also provided hands-on training to the management team.
