Responsibilities and Accountabilities as Panel Operator

Responsible for smooth operating of Finishing, Gas Recovery and Purification unit. Iskandar Muda Fertilizer Company processing plant include coordination and execution of operational activities in order to meet the target production.

Maintain high standard, reliable and efficient operating variables in line with (HSE) Health, Safety and Environment policy. Ensure shift activities is in line with HSE requirements by no spillages of chemical incident or unnecessary flaring/venting

To accepts responsibility of the job from the outgoing shift operator. The hand over process occurs in the unit operators’ shelter

Plan and arrange shift manpower according to operation requirement.

Become shift trainer and Assessor for Competency Base Assessment for Junior operator and also in-charge of shift crew development.

Communicate with other section on daily basis and pressure or flow changes in the feed.

Responsible for daily activities log report.

Acting as Shift supervisor while their on leave or on company business.

Assist junior operators in performing their duties effectively by giving on shift training

Lead field operator doing minor maintenance task

Responsible for notifying Mechanical department via computer system (SAP) with regards to any defects in the plant

Authorized Gas signatory tester. Doing gas test on hydrocarbon potential area for any hot work when I was as field operator.

Authorized Confine space entry.

Familiar with permit to work certificates, follow up and monitor the maintenance work and recording information in the system.

Ensure operators adherence to all Iskandar Muda Fertilizer company existing plant operating procedure guidelines and instructions.

Responsible and guiding operators in the shift to understand the company policy, obey the code of conduct and discipline.

Acting shutdown Coordinator for Annual Turn Around Inspection.

lead area field operator prepared equipment as per to shutdown work list, make it safe for mechanical to do maintenance and inspection.

Issue and authorized permit as a permit signatory

To Endorse work permits after checking that the conditions mentioned are correct.

Closely follow the maintenance activities in his area and ensures that conditions do not change during the work. In case any changes occur that prevents maintenance from continuing the job safely, stops immediately and informs shift Controller for further action. Also reports the incomplete work permits to his Shift Controller.

Carries out detailed inspection of all machinery and static equipments. Machinery must be checked at least twice per shift. Static equipment, such as PSVs and sight glasses must be checked once per shift. Carry out simple maintenance works as required.

To maintain Company’s high standard KPI complete rout check list such as (PSV, energize system, gratings, end plug and leak survey check list etc).

Checking of breathing apparatus on daily basis and report any defect.

Involved in Preservation Program for sea water and Cooling Water System.

Collect laboratory samples and hand over to laboratory.

Familiar with Lab result analyst such as: NH3, CO2 purity and pH, Conductivity, Turbidity, Silica, Ortho phosphate, Residual Chlorine (CW analyst).

Familiar in monitoring Axial, Radial of Turbine and Pumps Vibration.

Upon the emergency situation (such as flammable and toxic gas leak, fire & threat to any equipment damage) activate field manual ESD and report to respective Panel Operator and Shift controller.

Acts as Auxiliary Fireman and supports Fire Crew during an emergency.

Participate daily in his areas’ housekeeping activities.

Report all Near Miss Incidents to the concerned Shift controller.

Prepare the required chemical batches as per the procedure. Adjust the chemical dosing rates as per the lab report, in co-ordination with Panel Operator.

Ensures the availability of chemicals, especially prior to a Holiday or Weekend, by advising his Shift Controller of stock and consumption.

Stops and starts equipment as directed.

Meet the running equipments change over schedule and record properly.

Completes the shift log book containing comprehensive details of plant conditions, details of valid work permits, status of housekeeping, areas of concern and hand over the job to the incoming shift.

Well experienced in handling Urea Pneumatic Conveyor, Urea Dryer, Cyclone, and Urea Melter.

Well experienced in Hot oil, Molten salt, waste water treatments, Crystallizers and Centrifuge.

Well experienced in Nitrogen compressor, Instrument air compressor and Passivation air compressor.
