I was the acting Athletic Director at the Middle and High School simultaneously. My responsibilities included scheduling all varsity and sub-varsity contests, being the direct supervisor of all coaches at all levels and ensuring they met mandated MHSAA requirements on time, fundraising, financial record keeping, creating purchase orders for equipment, tracking its delivery, and inspecting that all equipment was delivered in good condition. Additional responsibilities included booking and compensating referees, renting and compensating bus transportation to and from away games, scheduling gym availability and assigning use, overseeing athletes meet our GPA requirement, and parent communication. In my first year as the leader of the athletic program, I added 2 varsity sports that the school had never before sponsored: Girls Tennis and Boys/Girls Track & Field. Additionally, I signed our school up for services known as ‘refpay’ and ‘arbiterpay’ in order to compensate referees and officials in a completely paperless, digital way. I also served as the League Treasurer of the MMAC, the league to which our school was apart.

– Restorative Practitioner – Detroit, MI – J uly 2014-July 2015 I was a certified Restorative Justice Facilitator as qualified by the International Institute for Restorative Practices. I facilitated upwards of 115 restorative circles meant to give students a defined structure for conflict resolution and peer mediation. Approximately 70% of the circles I facilitated were graded successful based on no reoccurrence of conflict with the involved parties.

– SMP Coordinator – Detroit, MI – J uly 2015-January 2016 I partnered with upwards of fifty local Detroit businesses and professional work environments for the purpose of placing our school's 12th graders at meaningful internships. All students had to complete 60 hours of on site work experience at their placements over the course of one semester. My partnerships included, but were not limited to, Shinola Detroit, TechTown Detroit, Workshop Detroit, Digerati, Mannik Smith Group, Henry Ford Health System, New Center Day Care, Greenbrier Foods, The Peacock Room, Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit, College for Creative Studies, and more. Grade Math Teacher and Technology Lead– Detroit, MI August 2012- July 2014

I was solely responsible for the mathematics education of 63 5 th grade students. My

responsibilities also included, but were not limited to, planning and writing out detailed daily lesson plans, creating long and short term unit plans by backwards-planning, tracking all formal and informal assessments digitally and manually, and partnering and regularly communicating with parents regarding their child’s progress. At the end of my first year teaching I was given the title of 'Technology Lead Teacher' which came with a $3,000 stipend. By the end of my second year teaching my students were averaging 1.5 years gains in mathematics as measured by the NWEA’s standardized test. I was s elected from approximately 50,000 applicants nationwide to join a national teaching corps of recent college graduates and professionals who commit to teach in urban and rural communities across the country. I participated in an intensive summer training program to develop the skills and knowledge needed to achieve significant gains in student achievement. I simultaneously taught in a summer school program in North Philadelphia run by Teach For America for students in public and charter schools under the supervision of a faculty of experienced teachers. I also engaged in professional development activities, including seminars, discussion groups, workshops, individual and group reflections, readings, and ‘learning teams’ specific to elementary education.

Pomona College Academy for Youth Success – Teaching Assistant – Pomona College – Claremont, CA June 2010- August 2010, June 2011-August 2011

I was selected by the Draper Center for Community Partnerships to be a teaching assistant, as well as a tutor and mentor to rising high school juniors and seniors. The Academy selects high-achieving minority youths from the surrounding San Bernardino area and allows them to take classes with Pomona College professors and live on campus for four weeks. During that process, they are primarily in the care of the Teaching Assistants. I was chosen for the Teaching Assistant role two years in a row. I chose to teach an elective course both years and was a tutor to the students in their classes with Pomona professors. O ther Relevant Experience:
