POSTGRADUATE TRAINING: {DMRD, DNB}

Department of Radiology (where I completed my residency-DMRD), KING EDWARD VII HOSPITAL (KEM HOSPITAL) AND SETH G.S MEDICAL COLLEGE whichis equipped with:

One 1.5 Tesla MRI unit (Siemens Sonata Maestro Class)

One Multislice C.T. scanner (Somatom Volume Zoom)

One Single-slice helical C.T scanner (Somatom Esprit)

Two Latest Colour Doppler machines (Philips ATL HDI 3500, Philips Envisor B)

Three ultrasound units (GE Logic 200, Siemens ADARA) and

Two image-intensifier units (Siemens Sireskop)

Conventional Radiology which included plain radiography, sialograms, dacrocystograms, fistulograms and sinograms.

Gastrointestinal Radiology and Genitourinary Radiology included intravenous urography, urethrography, cystography, ascending pyelograms and hysterosalpingography.

Vascular and Interventional Radiology included aortograms, renal angiograms, carotid and four vessel

angiograms, peripheral angiograms, inferior venacavagrams .

Musculoskeletal Radiology included plain films, myelograms and arthrograms.

Paediatric Radiology ( AtB.J.Wadia Children’s Hospital, Mumbai -500 bedded hospital) included skull, abdominal ultrasound, Doppler and conventional radiography including gastrointestinal and genitourinary procedures.

Interventional Radiology included embolizations, percutaneous nephrostomy, FNAC's, biopsies and pig-tail drainage assisting in angioplasty, vascular and biliary stenting. Work in Neuroangiography Division included diagnostic angiograms.

USG included general abdominal and pelvic ultrasound, transvaginal and hysterosonograms, Color Doppler and USG guided interventions. Small parts USG included thyroid, breast, scrotum, orbital, musculoskeletal, pediatric neurosonography, chest USG.

CT scan included Neuroradiology, Head and Neck Radiology, Pediatric Neuroradiology and body imaging, Body imaging including chest, abdomen, pelvis, HRCT of the chest, musculoskeletal CT and 3-D CT.

CT guided interventions included pig-tail drainage, aspirations, FNAC's/biopsies.

MRI included routine scans of brain, spine, extremities and specialized studies like perfusion/diffusion, MRCP and MR spectroscopy.

DNB done from Kerala Institute of Medical Sciences, Trivandrum. It is a 500 bedded multispeciality private hospital-cum-institute located at the heart of Trivendrum city in Kerala, India. KIMS has successfully recieved the ACHSI - Australian accreditation).It has got the Best Medical Tourism award in year 2005 in India.

It is the Tertiary care centre for the patients from Middle East, Maldives, Srilanka and rest of the Kerala state.

The radiology department is equipped with 500 mA X ray, 800 mA fluoroscopy X ray machine, 2 portable X rays, two GE 500 Pro USG cum color Doppler machines, one Philips-HD USG cum color Doppler machine, GE spiral CT e machine, digital Mammography machine, Integris Single plane fluoroscopy Cath. lab machine and 1.5 Tesla Philips MRI machine.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE:

We had DNB and intensive teaching programmes running at Care Hospital, Raipur.

I regularly participated in the academic discussions and the regular department teaching programmes. I was actively involved in the inter-departmental teaching programmes and meetings. Also helped juniors, undergraduates and technicians in improving their knowledge in radiology, which was helpful for their academics as well as for their exams.

ACADEMIC HONOURS & AWARDS:-

Best student in Radiology from KEM HOSPITAL in Jan 2004 DMRD exams (Diploma in medical Radiodiagnosis)

VOLUNTEER & COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES:-

Done MO ship- rural service in 2001.Was in-charge of Primary health centre and Rural hospital, Saoli, Chandrapur district.Handled the centre alone with implementation of different healthy practices and programmes.

Participated in AIDS awareness programme during MBBS, Pulse Polio eradication programme, Counselling of the psychiatric illnesses, promoting family planning programme, TB control programme, Leprosy eradication programme, Diarrhea and infectious disease control programme during my 8 months Rural service after Internship.
