Dear Staffing Coordinator:
Please accept the enclosed r sum as an expressed interest in
challenging employment opportunities that would effectively
utilize my extensive engineering and R & D support skills. I
have over 20 years of professional experience, the past 17 years
as an Engineering R & D Technician at APC / Schneider Electric.
My background includes detailed experience testing hardware and
software, programming, working on systems and subsystems, and
troubleshooting components to the board level. I have worked
with power supplies, oscilloscopes, meters, AC sources, and
uninterruptible power supplies (UPS).
Over the years, I have consistently helped provide timely
product development contributions that met or exceeded
performance, quality, budgetary, and delivery guidelines. In my
most recent role, I was involved with supporting a wide array of
functions including UPS design verification testing, engineering
component qualifications, and modular data center interface
development.
My diverse blend of experience, problem solving skills, and
professionalism will allow me to become a key contributor within
your organization. I am confident that my abilities and
technical expertise will be an asset at another leading
electronics company.
I am eager to discuss my background and how I can provide a
positive impact in an organization. Thank you for your time and

EXPERIENCE: Engineering R & D Technician
APC / SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC, Andover, MA (1999 - 2016)
. Served as an Engineering Research and Development
Technician, assisting engineers in varied R & D and
prototyping projects involving uninterruptible power
supply systems.
. Collaborated on design verification testing for UPS
systems. Collected and analyzed data, compiled
reports, and helped to ensure that products met
required specifications.
. Set up and operated test equipment, hardware, and
software. Built jigs for UPS testing.
. Performed troubleshooting from schematics to the board
and component level.
. Supported engineering component qualifications.
Verified components were qualified for projects
including resistors, capacitors, inductors, diodes, and
connectors. Updated and maintained database of
qualified parts.
. Completed software regression testing using firmware
debugging programs.
. Major projects included development testing for several
successful UPS products including a 1500VA Back-UPS
product with a quasi square wave output, a 300VA Back-
UPS product with a sinusoidal output, and a Smart-UPS
Online UPS with a sinusoidal output.
. Aided in development of an Efficient Home Unit and Wide
Range Power Meter with accuracy of 1% from 1 to 10 Amps
which used current transformers to calculate real power,
apparent power, power factor, crest factor, and Watts
per hour.
. Implemented hardware design for Modbus serial
communication with loads, UPS, and generators using
motorized circuit breakers.
Lab Supervisor / R & D Electronics Engineer
ENDURO PIPELINE SERVICES, Tulsa, OK (1994 - 1999)
. Supervised, trained, and motivated lab staff, creating
daily schedules and assignments.
. Improved product designs. Built a new electronic motor
drive board for small and large instruments. Redesigned
a new receiver and transmitter with 50% greater power.
. Updated benchmark system, building a new transmitter
half the size but just as powerful.
. Aided in development of a digital data logger to collect
information on the condition of pipe walls and direction
of the pipeline.
. Enhanced the life of small transmitter by 70% by
detecting a technical problem and implementing
corrective action to replace defective parts.
. Designed and produced a stereo seismic anomaly detector
that saved thousands of dollars in field technician
detection and diagnosis costs.
