2006–2008 : Drilling supervisor for Oil Search overseas company

2008–2014 : Drilling and workover Superintendent for Khalda in field base Reviewing wells plans, Supervising & Following up 10 rigs operations. ( 6 drilling rigs and 4 workover rigs)

EXPERIENCE DETAILS

Provides day-to-day on-site leadership and supervision of all drilling, completions and workover operations and is responsible for the safe and efficient execution of the drilling program.

Ensure full implementation of HSE plan, with compliance checks as part of regular rig and/or Hoist inspection. Ensuring Contractors comply with HSEMS as per contract. Participating in “Health; Safety & Environment (HSE)” audits. Participate in incident investigations when appropriate.

Ensures that all precautions are taken to ensure the Safety Environmental and Health policies and regulations are covered on the drilling/work over site, Safe working at all times, PTW system, Zero LTI & spills

Responsible for performing site emergency plans and organizes regular emergency exercises and drills on-site and timely reporting on DDR.

Supervise Rig inspection as per check list.

Supervise monthly rig safety inspection

Conduct weekly kick drill, stripping, H2S drill and Fire drill with both crew, weekly safety meeting discussed HSE, Near Miss Reports

Ensure operations are performed in accordance with the approved standards and Drilling and HSE Reference Manuals

Inspects contractors’ camp to ensure compliance with safety, environment and hygiene policies and standards. Investigate and reports cases of non-compliance with terms of contract.

Leads safety meetings, service company pre-job safety meetings to ensure good communication

Participates in rig moves to ensure safety of Company facilities e.g. flow lines, power lines, wellhead accessories, etc.

Reviews the assigned drilling/work over plan in detail and discusses and recommends technical changes where deemed necessary and prepares for the site start up.

Reviews the field drilling data and relates to experience of drilling similar well types. Liaises with the contractors and issues work directions and instructions to drilling contractor, mud contractor, directional drilling contractors and well logging contractor, fishing, running all casing types, cementing, running completions, acidizing, production testing, sampling, coring and other site contractors as required.

Undertakes planning with contractors to ensure that the drilling/work over program is completed on time and in budget and in a safe manner. Ensures that logistics of contractors are well planned and sound and appropriate for the task in hand.

Verifies that the performance of the site contractors is as per the contractual arrangements and that time keeping, job tickets are kept up to date and accurately reflect the performance on site

Monitors and reports on the activities of service company personnel involved in the provision of technical services/ operations covering.

Provide reporting of all well site activities, Drafts a variety of cost and activity reports such as daily costing, cumulative expenditure reports including consumption of materials, equipment and general progress of work,

Economic consumption and safe utilization of Company supplied materials and equipment, liaises with Company Stores to Ensures timely return of equipment and surplus materials.

Ensure that all risks have been adequately identified and mitigated and all relevant rig personnel are aware

Plan and prioritizing up-coming activities and allocate resources to ensure that the objectives are achieved in a timely manner and within budget

Ensure that adequate time is allocated to plan and organise non-routine or unforeseen activities

Maintain a record of lessons learned and improvement opportunities and participate

Responsible for doing a first-line investigation and reporting of all accidents and incidents on the location

Contribute to the development and maintenance of expertise with respect to execution of drilling, work over and completion programs, with special attention to well control and safety management.

Improve the execution quality of drilling, work over and well completion activities by optimizing proven techniques and practices, and implementing new technology and innovative operating methods; evaluate and report results; contribute to the development, upgrading and maintenance of drilling and completion standards.

Coordinate rig site response to incidents and accidents.

RIG SITE EXPERIENCE

1.Prepares 24-hour look ahead document with Rig Supervisors.

2.Attends Daily planning meeting with Rig site Supervisors.

3.Issues Written Instructions to Drillers for each tour based on well program highlighting potential risks such as stuck pipe, losses and kicks.

4.Prepares detailed procedures for specific well operations (running casing, cementing, logging etc.).

5.Performs wellsite calculations e.g. cement jobs

6.Ensures well control event preparedness (SCR’s, Leak off Tests, BOP Tests, kick sheets, shut in procedure etc.).

7.Ensures stuck pipe event preparedness (Drillers’ first actions, maximum allowable overpull, fishing equipment etc)

8.Attends the rig floor to supervise critical activities such as (but not limited to) landing, cementing, and testing casing; flow checks, and while pulling the first ten stands while tripping etc

9.Verifies adherence to instructions and procedures.

10.Organizes pre-job meeting (Operations and safety).

11.Maintains “7 day planner” to anticipate resource requirements to meet well demands and provide optimum efficiency of services including contingency plans.

12.Prepares Standard Equipment Lists in a timely manner for each phase of the well.

13.Ensures Material Requests are issued in a timely manner to avoid disruption of operation.

14.Responsible for checking equipment on site to ensure readiness. (QA/QC)

15.Manages proper inventory of consumable drilling supplies such as cement, barite, bits, and nozzles, etc.

16.Ensures timely return of equipment and surplus materials and update inventory

17.Updates log book. Ensures adequate handover.

18.Supervise and follow-up hole cleaning efficiency

19.Clean and tidy well site with access control.
