Management responsibility for operation of a custom machine plant, engineering, Welding, CNC, assembly, electrical and paint areas.

New plant start-up during rapid growth of production. From 4 million to 8 million.

Implementation of MRP and ERP system.

Held machine build and assembly meetings to ensure machine is done on time with the best manufacturing and assembly methods.

Plant floor, health & safety programs established. Safety job one meetings held regularly.

Implementation of 5S system and KPI visual.

DAHL BROTHERS CANADA LIMITED July-2012 – March-2013

Plant/Production Manager

Management responsibility for operation of the assembly, machining, stamping, screw machine and CNC departments.

Cost avoidance by strengthening the Total Preventive and Autonomous Maintenance programs, critical parts list with spare part storage established. One occurrence avoided $200,000 in downtime.

Held advance tooling and assembly meetings to ensure all layouts, control plans and measuring techniques are in place before initial run of new products. So concerns are captured before it it’s the shop floor. Also a member of the APQP team.

Process Development Specialist 2002 - 2004

Key liaison through program management between product design, tooling design/manufacturing, production and machining from initial concept through the life cycle of the program.

Created a new venting concept, directed design and manufacturing process for a new product launch for an overall product cost avoidance of over $5 million.

Approved all product, design, tooling and manufacturing targets. (APQP).

Project Leader Product/Tool/Design 1997 - 2002

Team leader working interactively with customers and internal working groups for black box product, prototyping, tool design and manufacture. Following program through the life cycle of the product.

Initiated and managed transferable master product models through the engineering stream from concept to tool build.

Worked with Carlton University on a funded R&D project for die analysis, cooling, structure and mould flow technologies to be used in-house at our design facility.

Successfully established standards using a cross functional team to determine the best fit standard for each discipline.

CAD/CAM Tool Design (Centennial Division) 1992 - 1997

Development leader for CAD/CAM department, critical path (flow) and execution. Eliminating manual G&M code entry. Resulting in a 40% increase in tooling through put.

Designed and implemented the manufacturing model using ProE (ideas), Cimatron and Solidworks.

Tool and Die Maker 1983 - 1992

Responsible for the manufacture and build of complete tooling for high pressure casting moulds, plastic injection moulds, blow moulds, pour moulds, trim tooling, QA fixtures, machine fixtures and machinery to customer specifications and tolerance.

Development of the CNC department, utilizing cam cycle and manual programed G&M codes.
