Responsibilities include grossing of tissue. Making sure daily routine is carried out, training new staff members, Employee reviews, grossing and processing tissue, embedding tissue in paraffin, cutting tissue on a microtome, affixing tissue to glass slides, running slide through a hematoxylin and eosin stainer. Doing special stains automated and by hand and automated, cover slipping glass slides, packing and shipping to customers to meet crucial deadlines. Change reagents in processors and staining machines. Familiar with Leica stainers, processors, and special stains. Currently Lead in charge of swing shift about 35 staff members. I have also used various microtomes, embedding machines and tissue tech cover slipper. Ordering supplies, scheduling, etc.
