As project manager/engineer/team member, I was responsible for several Capital Improvement Projects. The team was responsible for the program development and implementation of Tucson Water’s SCADA system comprising over 250 remote sites communicating to a central master network of DEC 3000 Alpha servers running UNIX/OSFI.

Other responsibilities included database program design, configuration and implementations for 12,000 I/O points. Database response time and performance improved by over 250% using SQL programs designed to maximize efficiency.

August 1987 – July 1992 Anderson DeBartolo Pan, Inc. Tucson, AZ Project Engineer

As project engineer, I was responsible for writing technical specifications and preparation of CD documents and plans with calculations for several multi-million dollar construction projects including the Children’s Research Center at the University Medical Center in Tucson, AZ, and The Medical and Dental Clinic at the Naval Training Center in San Diego, CA. Both projects were completed efficiently using AutoCad. I designed, developed and implemented engineering software using LISP to automate AutoCad. February 1980 - August 1987 General Motors Corporation Marion, IN Senior Plant Engineer

As team member of the $550 million Plant Modernization Project, I was project manager of $23 million Electrical Power Distribution Upgrade at the Marion Metal Stamping Plant. I was responsible for the management, design and implementation of an energy efficient 90 MW electrical distribution system. The system used automated capacitor banks to reduce power factor utility penalties allowing pay back in 4.7 years.

I was project manager of the $47 million Plant Automation Project, I was responsible for the management, design and implementation of 112 metal stamping presses using Allen-Bradley, Square-D, and Gould- Modicon Programmable Logic Controllers. The automated press lines eliminated 134 press operators per shift. I travelled globally to assist in the start-up/commissioning process of metal stamping transfer presses and travelled within the United States to witness factory acceptance tests of medium and high voltage gear.
