Lead Chemical Engineer

Scale up, grass root facility establishment, Scoping, Conceptual design, Process Design, Detail Design, project coordination between Management team and Engineering manufacturing team.

Design a complete process around a patented technology to scale up the process to pilot and commercial operation of the product. Process is developed by a Chemist in a lab.

Client – Centurion (Optimization Program)

Completed total of 3 optimization projects for centurion. Completed FEED for all the optimization projects. Provided TIC for each different option that was considered.

Client – Sunoco Logistics (Engineering and EPC)

Worked in a team of engineers and coordinated the task for each office for FEED and detail engineering phase. Process Design and detail design of a crude storage facility.

Client – NiSource (Conceptual design scoping and FEED)

Performed conceptual design, Scoping and completed FEED study of a cryogenic plant of capacity 200MMSCFD.

Single handed completed the total conceptual design and PFD development.

Client – ALGUS (FEED and TIC)

Developed conceptual design to determine the changes required to meet the 2019 commitment for filtered water supply. Performed front end design to determine the different equipment needed and the capacity of the equipment. Spec out the disc filters and vessels. Performed hydraulic study of water supply lines

Provided TIC for the project to the client.

Client – Vopak Terminals and Access Midstream (EPC / Engineering / PM)

Primary client contact and a project engineer on all the Vopak projects. Coordinated and performed different Terminal maintenance Projects.

Primary contact and project engineer on Access midstream (Now Williams Energy). Developed Gas plant expansion scope of work to increase the working capacity of plant from 90 MMSCFD to 200 MMSCFD

Performed equipment sizing and strategic placement of equipment for future expansion for the plant

Developed a work execution plan with minimum operation interruption

Client – Oxy Chem (Ingleside storage EPC / Project Coordination)

Worked in a team of 100 engineers and drafters in four offices, coordinated the task for each office for FEED. Worked on FEED and part of detail design package, of the Ethylene drying and storage facility

Simulated a 150 miles long pipeline between ethylene cracker and drying facility, using Pipe phase

Performed line sizing and equipment sitting for the drying facility

Client – Petro-bras (SWAT EPC)

This is a technology that Willbros is working along with a consultant who holds patent in the technology. Optimization support sized and spec out air coolers and heat exchanger in the process. Provided economical evaluation of process

Helped to develop the PFD’s for pilot scale plant of capacity 8800BPD.

Provided front end support to optimize the process. Pointed out major flaw in process design, which could have resulted into plant shutdown

Client – Shintech Louisiana LLC (Onsite Process Support)

Onsite assignment involving process engineering support for validating the capacities of control valves, pumps, pipeline sizing, relief system capacity and other daily needed support for the operation for VCM-1 unit

Client – Castleton Commodities International LLC (Liquid handling and product development)

Conceptual design to develop the “Y-grade liquid or Natural gasoline” from the NGL collected from the membrane and the natural gas lines coming into the Gas plant.

Client – Castleton Commodities International LLC (Gas Gathering System Analysis)

Developed & simulated hydraulic model of 67 mile long10” pipeline.

Performed Hysys simulation & developed three conceptual designs to accommodate increased flow of NG from 3.2 MMSCFD to 30 MMSCFD. Developed process design package and TIC estimate for 2 Compressor stations

Client – Ergon Refineries (Vacuum hydraulic loop expansion)

Verified pump circuit capacity for future expansion of Vacuum distillation unit. Set up complete hydraulic circuit on HYSYS simulation software. Performed various case analysis.

Client – Williams Olefins (Relief System capacity scoping, analysis and Detail Design)

Developed a scope for relief system network that was affected by potential expansion of ethylene plant.

Helped writing a proposal for defined scope - $1 MN in engineering service. Performed calculation on number of relief valves and simulated a section of flare header. Using HYSYS, flare-net, In-house relief calculation spreadsheet. Performed a small study for Propane, Propylene & Butadiene storage facility siting. Coordinated with piping and project management department to kick start the detail design.

Client – Nalco Chemicals Ltd. (Acrylic Acid Storage and Supply)

Developed a Process Design package for storage facility and a 2000ft long insulated supply and return loop of acrylic acid for additional reactors to be commissioned in August 2013 using HYSYS. Rated and designed tempered water cooling and heating system. Provided project management support and sequencing to avoid the downtime. Optimized the solution to reduce TIC

Client – National Cooperative Refinery Association (FEED for SRU OSBL and ATS Tank Farm)

Project aimed to provide front end design and TIC for new Sulfur recovery unit and Ammonium thiosulfate tank farm for the refinery at Mc person, Kansas.

Sized equipments, calculated line size, hydraulic circuits analyzed, developed equipment datasheets.

Client – Marathon refineries.( Sulfur recovery Unit (SRU))

Analyzed and designed the relief system network, analyzed capacity of present network based on API for all overpressure Scenarios Using PPM software.

Studied Worley-Parson Sulfur recovery process to simulate and analyze.

Client – Chevron, Pascagoula (Fractionating Crude Column (FCC))

Validated the available relief devices and analyzing them for the different hazardous conditions using PPM. Total seven different distillation columns were simulated during the operation using Pro II simulation software.

Client – Sasol-Lurgi, South Africa. (Coal Gasification)

Aimed to reduce the production cost of the process to keep the production going on so as to cope up with reduced crude rates. Process was optimized on key factors to increase the yield by reducing losses and operating cost. Observed daily trends to find out faults in process. Suggested solution to particular problem. Used trend analysis techniques on Microsoft excel. Helped to develop new Grate control program. Proposed two modifications to reduce water and carbon losses.

Production Engineer

Project: Optimization of Energy in Pilot plant.

Project dealt with removing all internal pumps to reduce product cost. And Implementation of system to main plant.

Commissioned the plant without internal pumps to get the oil purification product with lower cost.
