TIANGGE BUSINESS –PHILCITE AND PHILTRADE NIGHT MARKET, ROXAS BLVD, MANILA

-Shared stall with friend giving 10% of gross sales as rent

-Went to Divisoria to buy merchandise to sell also tapped Hong Kong biaheros to do the same

-Sold P70,000 using a standard aluminum stand for my first try. Gave P7,000 to my friend whose rent for the whole booth was only P5,000

-Attracted attention of customers by continually demonstrating the then popular robot watch 1985

ULTRA NOBLIA -3RD FLOOR VIRRA MALL GREENHILLS

-Realizing tiangge business is seasonal, decided to open a regular retail store

-Rented a 14 sq meter stall amidst murmurs from neighbors that a toy store won’t last long in a garments section of the mall. Initial capital was 50k borrowed from an aunt.

-Sold soft drinks and snacks at the same time to augment earnings.

-Continued buying from Divisoria and biaheros till distributors/ agents started offering their products.

-90% of earnings was added back to capital so more items can be bought

-Transfered to a bigger 25 sqm stall to accommodate more customers and merchandise

-Started travelling to Hong Kong to buy toys that are not available in Manila to differentiate merchandise mix with other toy stores.

2004

CONCEPTREE INC. -41 KITANLAD ST., STA. MESA HEIGHTS, QC

-A children’s apparel company in partnership with a friend, dealing with licensed characters.

-With P40,000 initial capital, gross sales of P4M was achieved during 1st year

-First license acquired was Barbie followed by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Creepy Crawlers, Xmen, Lion King, Toy Story and Winnie the Pooh

-Had 2 sets of 4 characters each of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles mascots made. These mascots went around different malls and outlets for promotional activities. Said mascots were also rented out for parties and events.

-Ninja Turtles became the best license. From an initial rejection from SM, orders came in later by the hundreds of thousand pieces for the t-shirt line

-Did extensive product development on Winnie the Pooh which was not yet popular then, ready to launch products like diapers, socks, blankets, etc till Disney postponed doing so for lack of other support merchandise

-Joined roving trade show of Walt Disney to the provinces

-Started the trend of massive over all print on t-shirts, an innovation that made merchandiser ask other suppliers to follow

-Provided character and customized display modules with promo girls to deserving outlets

-Was able to achieve P40M gross sales in a year

-Managed and operated company by myself

CHILDSTAR TRADING INC. -41 KITANLAD ST., STA. MESA HEIGHTS, QC

-A family corporation set up for the importation and distribution of toys nationwide

-Negotiated 1st exclusive product distributorship via fax and long distance calls

-First toy distributor to air toy commercials on TV via channel 7’s Uncle Bob’s Lucky 7 Club.

-Pioneered introduction of bottled non-toxic and child-safe liquid bubble soap solution in the country

-Initial product was Bow Biters, a shoelace lock in the shape of heads of famous cartoon characters like Garfield, Mickey Mouse, Barbie, Sesame Street etc.

-Started with an order of 1,200 pcs, 80,000 was sold for the year to the amazement of supplier.

-Frequented Hong Kong Toy Fair to acquire additional exclusive distributorships

2005

WORLD OF TOYS INC. -4th FLOOR, EDSA-SHANGRILA PLAZA, MANDALUYONG

-Amidst outpour of invitations from different malls to open shop in their locations, chose Shangri-La Plaza due to its upscale ambiance

-Replaced the traditional glass paneling design of toy stores with a realistic 3D toy train replica on one side

-Added a ball pool and play section at the exit area where children can play on their way out.

-First to have a video wall at the entrance showing toy commercials and cartoons

-Had an animated smiling moon at the ceiling above video wall

-A toy soldier mascot was around to greet customers

-First toy store to have a pet section selling live unique and exotic animals like lop ear rabbits, dwarf hamsters, sugar gliders, scorpions and birds. Each pet animal purchase comes with a care sheet to guide children on how to take care of their new pets. Pet food and other supplies were also available.

-Generated a huge clientele of taipans, politicians, TV / movie personalities, and other VIPs

-Achieved gross sales of 30 million making it one of the top 7,000 corporations in Mandaluyong; within the top 10,000 in the country in terms of sales CREATIVE KIDS DEVELOPMENT AND LEARNING INC 6TH ST., NEW MANILA QUEZON CITY

-A pre-school catering to children’s early childhood education in partnership with friends

-Did all the conceptualization, design layout and supervised the renovation of premises.

-Company lost P800,00 a year before my entry, it earned more than that after.

-Operated a small silkscreen printing business servicing primarily a relative who supplies the Philippine Armed Forces with uniform t-shirts

-Volume of requirement would reach 400,000 shirts

-Did production runs for an SM supplier of preteen wear doing product development and providing graphic designs for approval.

-Also printed on pens, folders, nylon bags, mugs

-Did customized and personalized printing as well i.e. candy wrappers, invitations and the like

-Did not hire graphic artist and color mixer. Did the design layout, color separation and color mixing for production using a formula for consistency myself

-Owner sold the property I’m renting so operations were stopped. Concentrated in taking care of my ailing father till his demise in 2013. Continued to take care of my half- body paralyzed mother till end of October 2016

Wealth Licensing and Merchandising International Inc.

-Start up company that became the exclusive licensing agent of Intercontinental Licensing Ltd, the oldest licensing company in America, based in New York.

-Was able to close a US$5,000 notebook licensing deal for Douberies with Sterling Paper Inc. Page 7

-Made marketing plan for Cabbage Patch Kids in the Philippines which the AVP of 4Kids International described as fantastic

-Offered other properties of Intercon to companies like Hapee Toothpaste, Uratex Foam, Canary Enterprises (Philippine licensee of Garfield apparel), SM, etc

-Was negotiating to represent Smiley, Jeep, Chicaloca (from Korea) and other brands as well at the Hong Kong International Licensing Show

-Unfortunately partner brother in law lost interest to pursue venture
