W o r k E x p e r i e n c e

Florida Dept. of Transportation Central Office

July 2015 – June 2016 Tallahassee, FL.

CADD Support Specialist

My duties were to support Engineers and Designers from various Consultants with questions they had with Autodesk Civil3D 2015 software and Microstaion SS3/ SS4 software and their applications, also to prepare support and seminar presentations for the FLUG and Design Expo Seminars. Also prepared Quick Clip presentations and webinars on the FDOT web site.

I took an assignment through an agency called Advanced Systems Design. I relocated back to my house in the Tampa Bay area after my one year contract was up. I have been working from home for associates needing Design/ Cadd work.

FTE. Inc. October 2010 – June 2015

Tampa, FL. Senior Designer/ CADD Production Manager/ Project Survey Manager

In charge of the roadway plans production for F.D.O.T. projects in the transportation department and the whole Transportation Cadd Department.

Design roadway plans, signalization plans, lighting plans, etc. for various county organizations.

Perform field inspections for ongoing projects.

I was also the resident Project Surveyor in our Tampa office with our PLS working out of our Port Charlotte office. I oversaw all Surveying operations in this area for FTE. I utilized Autocad 2013 along with Caice Visual Transportation 10.1 with the FDOT’s EFB data collection. I also utilized Carlson Surv CE along with the Carlson Surveyor Plus for other projects. I have worked on projects from District VII, II and III.

AECOM August 2007 – October 2010

Miami, Florida CADD Production Manager

Since joining AECOM, Mr. Dixon has been the Production CADD Manager for the $2 billion, I-595 Design Build Express Lanes Project overseeing all of the CADD Production for the entire 9 segments of the PPP project. He also provided QA/ QC services for the plans preparation and was in charge of the overall final quantities for the project

The limits of the project extend from the I-75/ Sawgrass Expressway interchange to the I-595/I-95 interchange in central Broward County, Florida, for a total project length along I-595 of approximately 10.5 miles.

The project consists of the reconstruction, addition of auxiliary lanes and resurfacing of the I-595 mainline (including associated improvements to frontage roads and ramps), and a new reversible express lanes system in the I-595 median. The total construction cost of this project is upwards of $2 billion.

I would say the most challenging part of my job on the I-595 project was the fact it was a 12 mile Design Build project cut into 9 segments as each major interchange made up a segment. Other than AECOM we had 4 other sub-consultants in charge of different segments of the project that I had to handle their deliveries and QC check them.

The design build project was still under one FDOT FPID, so to keep the files compliant to the FDOT QC Standards I had to come up with a unique naming convention that we could still use the FDOT's QC Reporter as the project was still a full blown electronic delivery project. I came up with a naming convention that worked and distributed it among our group and the other 4 sub-consultants working on the project. I was able to edit the FDOT’s Site menu “Create File” routine by editing the Control.ctl file that used my new naming convention for each file to totally automate the process for each sub as well as at AECOM.
