OBJECTIVE:
To obtain a position which utilizes my skills, expertise and experience as an educator min a setting supportive of a creative, energetic teacher- facilitator; eager to work with children and adults m a hands-on, cooperative learning environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
My background as an educator with eleven + years of experience in Arts focused schools along with over 10 years of training with the Kennedy Carter's Changing Education Through the Arts (CETA) program and Metropolitan Opera Guild's Creating Original Opera (COO), serve to support the philosophy of the arts as a natural medium for students to demonstrate and enhance curricular knowledge and expertise. I have also worked to develop and implement curriculum and instruction which maximizes core conceptual understanding as a basis for learning along with skill mastery.
This training, along with my skills as a performance artist in the service industry for more than fourteen years prior to becoming an educator, my role as a parent and community activist allows me to interact in the educational community on many different levels. My experience also allows for a dedication to meeting and exceeding our children's educational needs. These qualifications make me an ideal candidate for a position where process is as valuable as product in the educational experience.
