3205 Wood Rd Salary: $18.00 a hourly

In the last 23+ years I have performed as a primary, lead and alternate Scheduler, Receptionist and Switchboard operator for Ridgewood Care Facility.

As primary, lead and alternate scheduler, duties involve responsibilities with independently developing “work” schedules, coordination and oversight for over 185 nursing staff with varied schedules (P/T, F/T & intermittent) Apply staff call-ins and replacements for critical daily staffing needs of 3 separate working class groups; being RN’s, CNA’s and Nurse Managers. Scheduling for such a large staff involves an enormous amount of time and technical knowledge & understanding of individual staff work agreements, needs, leave schedules and O/T requirements, all while applying scheduling directives, county, state and federal policies.

Work schedules normally include various shifts, weekends, evenings, holidays and overtime.

Serve as liaison for employees, managers and Ridgewood staff to accomplish a productive and complete work schedule.

As scheduling conflicts arise, independently resolve discrepancies without supervision. Receive record and/or document patient changes to schedule medical needs and staffing with internal/external medical staff. Generate and utilize various off-line and automated reports for Ridgewood workforce that includes information detailing patient units, room assignments and staffing needs.

Develop, manipulate and distribute work schedules weekly, keeping Administration, Supervisors and Nurse Managers appraised of all scheduling base, conflicts and issues.

Account for great risk for Ridgewood facility with applying federal, state and county safety policy and procedures with managing work schedules.

Switchboard Operation/Reception, duties include manning Ridgewood reception and intake center with various calls and visits from staff, other medical facilities, families and client based professional staff. This includes emergency and non-emergency situations that require medical or staff attention in accordance with county, state and federal guidelines & protocols.

Have performed dispatch duties with acquiring taxis, DART service and county vehicles for residents to attend Dr. Visits and field trips. Have assigned employees to attend and schedule driver as appropriate.

Arrange and schedule for patient pick-up from hospital's for admission. For planning purposes, generate weekly list of “patients to transport” for driver scheduling.

Responsibilities include accounting for Inventory of meal tickets, stamps and concession foods.

Maintain cash management and exchanges for inventoried items, special programs, visitors and patient accounts This responsibility carries significant impacts to Ridgewood operations and patient accounts. Arrange service schedules (utilizing phone, PA system and 3-way radio’s to dispatch or receive emergency and/or law enforcement services to assist with facility/patient services. This involved coordination and dispatch of medical staff and or services, determine en-route locations and directions. Supplied Ridgewood care facility with in-service emergency situations providing assistance with patient care to comfort or protect from harm.

Have personally diffused emotional and unstable patients in-house, with visitors and while in transit mode. Re-directed situations to appropriate person or place for optimal service and safe transit.

Independently utilize, enter and retrieve data with various software applications to perform scheduling, dispatch related and receptionist duties. Maintain and manage varied electronic files, paper files, and other source documents, union contracts, and work agreements to mange work flow responsibilities. Provide written and/or verbal statements of events that occur in the facility to assist medical staff and law enforcement officials with incident responses.

Utilize sophisticated telephone equipment, systems and radio’s to insure job responsibilities are carried out in an effective and timely manner.

Utilize KRONOS Workforce Central for Racine County- timekeeping software to capture employee vacation use, leave, comp time, etc. Utilize AMERICAN DATA; an electronic chart system used to communicate patient information to medical staff involving patient issues, discharges, admission and medical appointments. Utilize MS Excel, MS Word & MS Outlook to perform most functions.
