Mr. Adnan Qabbani is a structural engineer with broad experience in diversified small and large structural engineering projects. He has been involved in many challenging design analysis assignments and structural projects for public, corporate, commercial, healthcare and hospitality types of building. His experience includes design of structural steel, conventionally reinforced and post tensioning structural concrete buildings. July 2015 – June 2016 PSEG Hancock’s Bridge New Jersey

Structural Engineer, Main Power Transformer (MPT) project: provided owners acceptance review (OAR) for replacement of six MPT for Salem generation stations. Reviewing and comments on venders rigging structural engineering documents and drawings, and provide OAR for other venders engineering documents and drawing for load haul path, underground utilities, and foundation analysis and inspections.

Generator rewind project: provided owners acceptance review (OAR) of rigging plan for removing Stator and Rotor from Zion Plant to be shipped to Salem generating stations. Provided structural engineering reviewing and comments, and provide OAR for other venders engineering documents and drawing for load path, underground utilities, and concrete building and foundation analysis due to equipment moving loads.

Conduct seismic qualification review for electric cabinet, and provided foundation analysis and design for relocating site camera and site light poles.

January 2013 – April 2015 Westinghouse Electric Company Cranberry PA

Structural Engineer, Reviewed, verified, revised and approved, calculation and construction drawing, for auxiliary building reinforced concrete shear walls in accordance to ACI 349-01 code, including boundary condition and reinforcements around the openings.

Verified, revised, approved and create Engineering & Design Change Report and calculation for reinforced concrete and composite floor. Revised construction drawings, by incorporating proposed change. Revised calculation note for External Walkway structural steel framing, and Personnel Basket Monorail structural steel framing by modifying GTSRUDL input in accordance with ANSI/AISC N690-1994, to match current construction documents.

Structural Engineer

Designed and prepared construction drawing and calculation for four structural steel platforms, designed and prepared construction drawing for structural steel loading dock extension consist of forklift mounting platform, lifter platform and compactor platform same level as loading dock. Design and analysis of residential building roof wood truss and walls, using RISA and AutoCAD to produce calculation and construction drawings.

Structural Project Engineer

Prepared, three floors office building, post tensioning, floors and beams construction documents.

Designed light gage steel walls and connections to existing 9 story concrete building, and evaluated existing façade light gage steel walls in accordance to IBC code.

East Front Congress and Senate building, provided demolition, shoring and renovation detailing plans, includes design foundation underpinning, replacing historic CMU and structural concrete columns, slabs and Walls and with steel columns and transfer steel beams. Design underground concrete building for electric power generation station and retaining walls.

A one story 3500 SF structural steel brace frame building expansion, I used RAM steel to model and design the building, also due to the bad soil condition, I designed grade beams and caisson foundations system for this building.

FDA-North Parking Garage building prepared foundations and retaining wall construction documents.

FDA-Southeast, seven story parking Garage. Designed shear walls, designed and prepared post tensioning floors, beams and construction plans. FDA-Building 75 Modeled the 8 story office building utilized RAM Concrete program and design and prepared the foundations construction plans for the building, also deigned several steel foot bridges connecting the FDA buildings.

Renovation, façade replacement and additions to 7 story and three levels basement concrete moment frame building. One of the most challenging change to the building is in order to gain additional floor space, I have modified the perimeter transfer beams with its column load from upturn beam to down turn beam, in addition new slab openings for new stairs and elevator were cut in the in some floors. I used ETABS structural program to model the building before and after those changes, I concluded that no major reinforcement items such as shear walls was needed, only jacket reinforcement to few basement columns and drop panel at few roof columns. That was a major cost saving item for the client. Designed the penthouse façade structural steel framing support, it is 27 feet high, structural steel store front with roof, and steel canopy.

The extension is an 8 story dual system framing concrete building, disconnected from main ST REGIS HOTEL by expansion joint at each level. I modeled the building with ETABS structural program, designed columns beams, slabs and shear walls and construction plans, due to foundations issues with adjacent building, the foundation was subcontracted to a geotechnical company. The project is yet to be built.
