Conduct personal clinics catering to the holistic medical needs of the population living in the community.

Provide cost effective preventive, promotive, curative and rehabilitative health services to individuals, families and community.

Treatment of all acute and emergency diseases with appropriate treatment and followup.

Treatment of chronic diseases like DM, HTN, IHD, DYSLIPIDEMIA, THYROID problems etc with appropriate management and timely liaison with other Specialities.

Basic and minor surgical procedures (Foreign body removal, repair injured body parts, wart treatments etc.)

Clinical Responsibilities:

Conduct 7 clinics weekly at community health centre (CHC) which sees a heavy load of men, women and children due to its subsidized doctor rates as compared to other specialist/consultant clinics at AKU. I see both communicable and non communicable diseases and acute and chronic patients with appropriate referral if required.

Pre-employment physicals for companies and do vaccination for men, women especially children

Supervision of approximately 12-13doctors at CHC.

Conduct weekly off campus outpatient primary health care clinics with medical students at a remote area of Karachi which consists of impoverished persons with heavy disease burden of both communicable and non- communicable diseases with high index of Dermatological and infectious diseases. Teaching Responsibilities:

Conduct weekly teaching sessions and problem based learning of Year 3 and Year 5 medical students.

Facilitate final year post graduate trainee weekly sessions for preparation of MRCGP and FCPS.

Teach clinical and consultations skills in Family Medicine Clinics.

Monitor student’s progress and provide appropriate feedback.

Prepare MCQs and OSCE stations for end of clerkship assessment of students.

Conduct and evaluate end of clerkship assessment through OSCE for undergrad students and post graduate trainees.

External examiner for Ziauddin Medical University for OSCE in March 2014.

Assisted a Family Medicine consultant prepare a web based end -of-life course for medical officers and post graduate trainees at AKU.
