Objective: Senior engineering management position in, R&D, projects, or programs in Aerospace and Defense technology & product development, systems engineering, international programs
Selected Accomplishments:
Designed 3D stress analysis process, reducing time and slashing manufacturing scrap $2M.
GE analysis of jet engine parts was very labor intensive and time consuming. Developed process and computational tool to automate the generation of stress analysis models from 3D CAD geometry. Reduced time from four weeks to under two hours. Saved $500K annually in labor costs. Salvaged manufactured parts with defects that previously were scrapped. Received a US patent to protect the revolutionary analysis procedure.
Coordinated RFP response to NIST, leading to $21M four-year research grant.
GE received an RFP from the National Institute for Standards and Technology for development methods regarding global collaboration to speed up development of highly engineered products in order to improve the competitiveness of US manufacturing. Integrated input from Engineous Software, BF Goodrich, Parker Hannifin, Stanford University and Ohio University. Wrote proposal sections on optimization, CAD interface standards and CAD-CAE integration. Received multi-year grant.
Coordinated company SBIR and STTR responses, resulting in $7M in contracts.
Initially, Advatech had a hit-and-miss approach regarding SBIR/STTR solicitations. Streamlined Advatech’s process of responding to solicitations, leading to 15 Phase I, II and III wins, many of them with new customers, opening the doors for future follow-on business.
