EDI team is part of transportation vertical in Wal-Mart. The team maintains the communication between Wal-Mart stores, distribution centers & travel partners. The team is working towards modernizing the existing legacy IT infrastructure. This reduces the complexity in maintenance of code and redundancy of data. The change will help to move towards the better usage with analysis and forcasting.

Technical Lead – Estimate for the project, design the application, proof of concept for the team, create the run book for delivering the changes to the build team, development of the code, take presentation to the client, update the status in tracker, code review for the team, analysis of production issues and technical support to the team.

The client was looking for a business to business application and the project was in critical status. The team had to resolve the design issues for the in the client and server side and integrate with mobile application front end. The team was responsible for UAT to the client.

Project: Carrefour Support

The client was planning to change their already existing vendor. The team had to take over the application support and source code from the existing vendor, understand the business and technical flows, prepare the knowledge repository, train the team in China and transfer the support to China. Team had the division of tasks and modules and successfully transferred the support to the team in China after developiung the scripts and identifying most number of issues. The team had to provide the entire suite of solutions for the maintenance of the software and business knowledge. This includes the source code repository set up, knowledge repository and model presentation and division of module expertise in different areas of retail.

Project Lead – Analysis of impact in the modules, development of code changes, support load testing of the application, divide and mentor the team, coordinate with onshore team, support the testing team and update the status to the management. Coordinate with team in Thailand and China for smooth transition if the support activities.

This project was a reenginnering project to remove the presense of SSN from the employee details in Wal-Mart systems. The applications were categorized, reengineered and moved to proction in phases. The application had communication with multiple systems such as ERP. The testing had to be done in all applications to ensure the smooth production movement. It was one of the successful deployment in the set of applications.

EDI team manages the communication with multiple vendors such as external booking agents. All the communications are managed through the set of request and response messages. The team parses the inbound messages, transform it into module specific messages and dispatch it to modules for processing. The outbound message will be built from the response received from the other modules. The team was using the code generation tool for generating the source for message builder and parser. The team was responsible for informing any syntax error to the vendor with details in specific message type.

Technical Lead – Design and develop the code based on specification, communicate with other team to ensure proper processing of the messages, developed the tool to automate testing, participate in auit processing, set up environment for presentation, code review, optimize query and application and coordinate release activities with build team.
