As Building Technician, responsible for electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems maintenance, parts ordering and all phases of building maintenance. This involves three buildings housing the newspaper, doctors’ offices, and other companies/businesses (e.g. four radio stations).

Acts as a Team Leader for the less experienced employees.

Performs the daily maintenance that is needed for the newspaper’s delivery vans and trucks.

Assists in providing the lawn maintenance and landscaping for the three involved buildings

Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all existing housing units that comprise the Fairfax Lifetime Retirement Community.

As Assistant Director of Engineers, responsible for the assigning, delegating, and executing all essential maintenance functions involving electrical, appliance repair, plumbing heating and air conditioning, carpentry, room remodeling, landscaping, snow removal, etc. Also provided assistance to new and departing occupants to assist with their moving.

Responsible for servicing/maintaining both wet and dry fire sprinkler systems that were part of the existing building units.

Responsible for the transportation, delivery, and installation/removal of household appliances requiring a working knowledge and understanding of electrical wiring, plumbing, and gas connection systems. Additionally have acquired certification as a Type I Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) Mechanic.

Responsible for the planning of delivery routes to maximize time and be most economical Also required to handle and process invoices and delivery documentation.

Routinely required to revisit locations where appliances had been delivered to trouble shoot and remedy problems that had occurred due to improper use by the new owners.

Crew Foreman, Essential Lawn and Landscaping

Responsible for supervising and conducting various landscaping projects that were

assigned to crew.

Required to operate a variety of trucks and other landscaping equipment related and
