Employed to Koch Pipeline after Flint Hills Resources’ buy out of Buckeye Pipeline’s Huntsman system which I was assigned to. Continued the same duties and responsibilities that I had with Buckeye Pipeline on this system. As a lead technician, I was responsible for scheduling and planning all routine maintenance and project work.

I/E, MEASUREMENT TECH: Buckeye Pipeline-Liberty, Texas
Responsibilities included routine maintenance of all communication, measurement, and control systems on various pipeline systems operated by Buckeye Pipeline. Also responsible for project work such as new meter installations, including flow computers, PLCs, radio and satellite communications. Buckeye operated several different systems for various other companies which created a great challenge in being exposed to many different applications in PLCs, meters, and communications/SCADA designs.

Duties included routine calibration, proving, pychnometer test, and maintenance of orifice and turbine meters used in custody measurement. Calibration and maintenance of all instrumentation associated with pipeline control and regulatory compliance. Assisted pipeline technicians in maintenance duties such as pigging operations, overseeing contractor work, one calls, etc. Dealt with LPG products such as ethylene, propylene, NGL, ethane, propane, E/P mix, butane, benzene, C4’s and various condensates and feedstocks.

I left Lyondell Petrochemical when I took an opportunity to transfer to Equistar Pipeline’s Measurement Department. Equistar Pipeline was a subsidiary company of Lyondell.
