Achieved cost control & cost reduction through incident reduction & accident prevention programs. Instituted Industrial Hygiene, Fire Prevention/Protection, Ergonomic, Arc Flash, infrared testing, & Cranes programs which included all required training, record keeping, monitoring and reporting programs and results. Ensured all safety issues identified during internal/external audits and safety committee audits were resolved. Reviewed plans and specifications for construction of new machinery or equipment to determine whether all safety & environmental requirements have been met through a Management of Change process (MOC). Recommended process changes that have reduced employees' exposure to chemical, physical, and biological work hazards. Provided support to and work with local Human Resources Manager in the administration of Worker’s Compensation and Early Return to Work Programs. Managed and achieved compliance to CAA & company Air Permits, Wastewater, & Special & Hazardous Waste.
Detailed
Partnered with the University of Wisconsin Whitewater, through their internship program, to educate new students by providing on the job experience and direction on the practical subject matters required to adequately prepare students to take on their first job in an Environmental Health and Safety role.
Integrated environmental, safety, and security management systems into the center of the company’s business model that became the foundation for all present and future business decisions.
Developed and implemented different EHS leadership task based performance metrics that guide management in their day-to-day decisions, which are tracked and used in their performance appraisals. The EH&S metrics have been carried forward by leadership, and have been instrumental in changing employee behavior, and achieving a high level of EHS performance.
Workers Compensation Programs: Improved case management of employees through establishing relationships with surrounding hospitals and key personnel such as emergency room directors, occupational certified doctors, nurses, and administrative management. Building these relationships have been key to improving services to employees as required, and ensuring doctors and/or physicians assistants assign restrictions when appropriate instead of time away from work. Integrated a worker’s compensation attorney with a defined role. Weekly plant meetings, annual insurance co. meetings along with facility tours with each medical provider, review the positives as well as opportunities for improvement.
Developed and implemented a Management of Change (MOC) Process that reviews new products and/or equipment, or modification or alternative use thereof, to ensure employee safety and compliance with all permits and laws.
Established 24/7 emergency contact procedures to address any type of emergency situation, accident, etc., that leadership is to follow. The procedures guide them through the emergency to prevent further loss if any and/or mitigate what might have already taken place.

Professional Experience
Implemented different inspection processes with varying frequencies of daily, weekly, monthly and annual relative to what requires auditing. Examples include hoists, cranes, punch presses, printing presses, fire doors, flow testing, fire extinguishers, ergonomics checklist, etc.
Developed an EH&S software informational tracking system that provides for meeting the requirements of the Hazard Communication Standard, NR 438 Reporting, NR445 Compliance, Tier II Reporting, TRI Reporting, and a job costing program.
Identified point source ventilation systems that did not meet performance requirements as outlined the Occupational Safety and Health Administration or follow the design requirements of the American Conference of Industrial Hygienists, and designed and built ventilation systems that meet standard. Systems put into place included push pull systems for electroplating operations, systems for welding, parts washing, soldering, chemical handling, spray glue lay-up operations, and painting.
Designed fall protection equipment to fit the needs of the job being performed that kept workers safe, with the assistance of structural engineering, because the equipment needed was not commercially available.
Effectively ran and maintained a duplex bright nickel hexavalent chrome electroplating operation.
Project managed the design and installation of new wastewater systems.
Pioneered cutting edge air emission control technology to a Duplex Nickel Hexavalent Chromium electroplating operation that facilitated essentially a closed loop system for chrome air emissions. France’s top environmental administrator of that country unexpectedly reviewed this set-up along with his second in command.
Assisted in the design and implemented plant security systems.
Project management and engineering experience in building, rebuilding, modification of process equipment, cranes, and systems to reduce or eliminate hazards, reduce or minimize environmental footprint, and increase throughput.
Brought into guarding compliance over 3,000 pieces of production machinery over a 3 year period.
Developed machine specific LOTO procedures for over 3,000 pieces of production equipment and supporting systems.
Implemented and managed EHS compliance based systems such as task tracker & Zeraware.
Project managed the removal as well as the installation of underground storage tanks including the recovery of costs when applicable from the PECFA fund.
Developed and implemented safety committee bylaws that facilitated a way for safety committees to function effectively.
Wrote employee safety manuals that were used in the education of employees on how to perform the job safely and effectively.
Developed and wrote entire company Environmental Health and Safety policies, procedures, and programs.
