Dear Hiring Manager,

I would like to be considered for a position involving maintenance, operations, or management, which would coincide with my past years of experience and training. I have recently retired after working 35 years at OCI Chemical Corporation, and am very interested in pursuing a new work environment with new challenges.

Having been a long time resident of both Wyoming and Utah, I appreciate the opportunities for employment in the oil and gas, power generation, and mining industries.

My work experience over an extended period of time has prepared me with both technical and practical knowledge involving maintenance, production, and management, as well as strong interpersonal, and leadership skills.

I spent several years as a Lead Mechanic and then advanced to Maintenance Supervisor at OCI Chemical. Working in this environment I have been able to perform many of the maintenance, operational, and management skills that would carry over into the types of positions related to the above-mentioned industries.

I emphasize my time spent in leadership focusing on my experience as a Maintenance Supervisor. In this position I set an example of maximum safety and productivity. Throughout my 35 years with OCI, I have been on numerous committees that included helping employees communicate, and work out issues properly and effectively. I also served as a first responder at the plant for 20 plus years and responded to several situations where medical attention was required.

These combined experiences would be a helpful contribution in any work environment, and have provided me with the practical knowledge and skills that would allow me to immediately learn, and begin to take on the challenges of a new work environment.

OPERATIONS OCI CHEMICALS 1980-1995

• Responsibilities included, operating several refinery units that included dissolvers, filter sections, evaporator sections, operated D-9 dozer on stockpile. As an A Class Operator, responsibilities included mixing chemicals, checking the flow of chemicals, ensuring pumps were working properly and in good condition, as well as assisting senior operators in their duties.

MAINTENANCE /OCI CHEMICALS / 1995-2009

• Lead mechanic for several years, responsibilities included pipe welding, plate welding, stainless steel welding, fabrication of pipelines, pump rebuilds, pump alignments, conveyor belt replacements, rebuilding valves, lubrication of equipment, and overall general maintenance of all types of equipment and machinery.

MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR/OCI CHEMICALS/2009-2014

• Responsibilities included, supervising maintenance crew of 25-30 employees, to safely maintain operating units at maximum capacity, and to assist other departments within the organization. Communicated daily work assignments to employees, and managed office employee workload. Was in constant contact with production to insure all jobs were carried out as quickly and productively as possibly to ensure the plant ran at full efficiency.
