RESEARCH

The impact of placental pathology on preterm brain injury and neurodevelopmental outcomes

Short for gestational age babies and pattern of growth after hospital discharge and neurodevelopmental outcome at 24 months of age.

Birth cohort study for period of ten years for baby’s born below tenth centile and correlation to RSV positive bronchiolitis in University Hospital Limerick.

Children admitted with varicella infection and associated co morbidities in University hospital Limerick over past 10 years from 2001-2012.

TEACHING

As a program fellow I am responsible for my team and teaching the resident and departmental fellow of my team on day to day basis.

I was teaching the University of Limerick medical students on regular basis in the year 2012 and 2013 and I was involved in teaching and in final year exams as a examiner for University college Cork students.

I was involved in teaching of student midwives in University Hospital Limerick for last 4 years.

Management

As a program fellow in NICU twice a week (Tuesday and Thursday)I am responsible for leading the morning ward round with multidisciplinary team (Nurse, Resident, advance nurse practitioner, respiratory therapist, pharmacists, dietitian)

I am responsible to supervise the resident about the postnatal post natal consult during the 24 hrs on calls.

As a senior registrar I was organizing the registrar rota.

I was responsible for arranging the grand rounds on every Friday morning.

Induction of senior house officers at the start of every six months.

I was responsible to arrange the clinical teaching on weekly basis.
