Present Experience :

# Presently working as Dy. General Manager (Mech. Engg.) since 30th June 2010, with Africa’s biggest Cement manufacturer M/s Dangote Industries Limited (Cement Division) at Obajana ( Nigeria ).

# Successively erected and commissioned 6000 TPD capacity cement plant.

# Currently responsible for effective day to day operational activities of Packing section of all the THREE units.

Past Experience :

1> Worked with M/s Desai Engg. Works, Bagalkot, Karnataka from December 1988 to

October 1989 and was responsible for spare parts planning for Massey Farguson tractors

and TVS Mopeds and workshop handling

2> Worked with M/s Jayshree Insulators Halol, Vadodra from October 1989 to October

1990 and was responsible for maintenance of horizontal kiln and material planning .

3> Worked M/s Ambuja Cements Ltd, Gujarat (Unit of HOLCIM, Switzerland, world’s largest Cement Company) from November 1990 to August 1993,

Thereafter, transferred to Himachal Unit for their new upcoming green field project of 7000 TPD.

>Involved in Expansion project SECOND Unit of Ambuja Plant. Project was completed during Decemeber 2009 and commisioning has completed in March 2010. The plant came into Production during April 2010 and achieved full capacity of 7000 TPD during May 2010.

> Responsible for planning for complete material handling equipments.

> In Unit-I, after commissioning self was given the responsibilty of maintenance of Pollution control equipments like ESP, Bag House, and Bag filters.

> Day to day planning of maintenance, scheduling, implementing good maintenance practices. Material planning and manpower planning.

> Responsible for Spares planning and looking into possibilities of development of indegenious spares inplace of imported spares.

> Preparation of Annual Budget and thereby monitoring of the budget monthly and analyzing the cause of devitions with acutal budget.

> Co-ordination with other depts. Viz. Electrical, instrumentation, production,. etc.

Major Achievements :

# Developed new vendor for supplying Disc washer springs and thus saving INR 3.22 Lacs.

# Developed new vendor for supplying rubber plugs for Cement mill and thus saving INR 1.66 Lacs.

# Developed new vendor for repairing of friction liners for belt bucket elevators and saving of INR 3.26 Lacs.

# Developed new system for keeping track of stock & consumption of spare parts which provides easy monthly review of indenting.

# Reduction in number of LPRs raised as per the below comparatives. Indicating better planning.

# Compiled the cost of various spares like belt conveyors, elevator chains, gear boxes, castings, etc. supplied by various suppliers. This will help us in knowing the rates offered by suppliers whenever any new query is floated for procuring of material and accordingly negotiations can be done effectively.

# Life achieved by normal supplied dome valve is approximately 6 months. To increase it's life chrome plating has been done. Performance is under observation.

# Venturi for clinker bulk loading procured in Xl 55 MN wear plate ( 5+3) instead of XL 70 ( 5+1.5 ). We expect to give better life as compared to the existing life. Saving in cost by approximately INR One Lac.

# For certain critical items, purchase department is asked to call offers and send it to us before releasing order. If we feel that the rates are on higher side, revised offers are being called. For example >> Pinion shaft for KDN 450 ( DPC – 1 ), initially quoted by M/s Flender was INR 1.91 Lacs. After negotiations party agreed to supply the material for INR1.15 Lacs, thus saving of INR 76/- Thousands.

# Development of alternate vendors is also a part of responsibility. For example >> We would like to procure spare Raw Mill Grinding roller axle, as the existing roller axle has scoring marks on the bearing seating. Offers were called from various supplier like M/s FLSmidth, M/s Stotz Blacksmith, M/s Promac and M/s Sethi Heavy Engg. The quoted price by M/s FLSmidth who are the OEM had quoted INR 26.50 Lacs which we feel is on much higher side. The offers quoted by M/s Stotz Blacksmith & M/s Sethi Engg are less i.e.INR 13.25 Lacs.

Present Emoulement : USD6000 per month ( Non-Taxable ) is being deposited in my NRE account in INDIA and additional local currency equivalent to INR 33,500 per month is provided here at site. Fully furnished accomodation with Cook Cum Steward and company maintained vehicle is provided.
