College Intern: University Selectron June 2016 – Present Description: A web application that suggests universities based on students’ profile. Based on Spring Framework. Responsibilities:

Responsible in implementation of web applications using frameworks such as Spring Core, Spring MVC, Spring Web Flow.

Developed web pages using HTML, JSP and validated using JavaScript. MySQL queries were written for CRUD operations. Used Spring DAO design pattern and server layer to handle/transform data.

Responsible for writing business logic in JAVA using controllers. Made use of factory pattern, MVC pattern and dependency injection.

Description: An android App that takes a photo and records the following data: image, video, GPS Location with accuracy, title and description (via speech recognition). Helps memory deficiency patients to remember things (by listing images and videos).

Responsibilities:

Designed and developed a multithreaded, concurrent access system using asynchronous tasks.

Used android activities, services and broadcast receivers. Implemented full activity lifecycle methods. Used intents to bridge various activities.

Used SQLite to connect to the MySQL database and written complex queries.

Developed the application on Google Glass platform. Used RESTFULL API calls using Mirror API to receive live card to google glass.

Big Data Analytics Using Python on Chicago Crime Data Aug 2015 – Dec 2015 Description: The application replicates the work of Joel Caplan who worked on a problem which solves the problem of scheduling policing that has long-term positive outcomes. Responsibilities:

The police official gets to know the nature of the crime at a hot spot which helps police officials in a big way.

Implemented application that lets the user run scripts with various options to query the crime data such as crime occurred on a bday, year or month.

The algorithm focused on both history and nature of crime. For example, most recent crime is indicated by high opacity and major crimes like murder is indicated by wider red point.

I used huge amount of data approximately 1.3 GB of data loaded into dataframes and queried the dataframes.

Description: A web application which processes user query for a food item and provides Food Recipe, Nutritional Facts, Making Video and Location by ingredients. User can further filter his search based on calories and cuisine. Responsibilities:

Responsible for retrieving data from various API’s like Bigoven, Nutritionix API’s and parsing it using DOM parser and simple JSON package.

Used various object oriented concepts and nuclear methods for developing classes in JAVA.

Implemented server side logic using JSP’s to display results to the user query. Environment: Java, XML, JSON, DOM, JSP, HTML.
