Experience
Lead Hand Environmental Truck Driver
Emterra Environmental
August 10 2012 - Present
Curbside recycling collection. By means of Rear Packer, Side Loader and Right Hand Drive. I was the acting supervisor for Brantford for 2 of the finals months after the original supervisor resigned. Here I had the opportunity to learn many aspects of the Route Supervisor position such as mapping, performance evaluation, handling calls/emails from the City etc... I also got the opportunity to utilize my strengths and increase productivity while decreasing labour hours and wages. This resulted in the business saving money. Currently I am working in a Lead Hand role for Refuse in Brant County. The duties include but are not limited to the following, calling for roadside service for drivers, assisting others drivers, training and end of day paperwork faxing to London (time sheets, load slips, post trip repairs, Request PO's).
Operations Manager
Lifeline Delivery Services Inc.
September 5 2003 - August 9 2012
I started at Lifeline as a driver and was made supervisor after 1 year. I was responsible for route mapping, truck maintenance and driver scheduling and driver training. While I was the supervisor, I was also the Canada Post Liaison. After 6 years I was promoted to Operations Manager. Here I was responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the company. This included interacting with our contract supplier such as St.Joes Healthcare, Hamilton Health Sciences, Mohawk Supply Chain Services, Canada Post as well as Superior Radiant Products ie. fielding emails, monthly meetings etc... As we generated more business, I designed the transportation routes to accommodate the workload without having to purchase new trucks, this saved the company hundreds of thousands of dollars. While I was holding this position, I had to delegate company duties to the appropriate department or supervisor and then follow up to insure the tasks were completed in a timely and professional manner. I was responsible for attending Bidding tours and contract assessments. I developed an Employee performance incentive/rewards programs which increased overall productivity. As well Cost Control/Assessment/Budget/Forecast.
