Career Goal: Use my accumulated skills from over 40 years of employment. I am looking for a position that I am likely to be overqualified for but will provide activity following my early retirement from the pharmacy department at Crozer-Chester Medical Center. I was the clinical pharmacist for the Nathan Speare Regional Burn Treatment Center. I have computer skills described, I have experience talking with physicians, and have always been focused on problem solving and doing the best for clients/customers. I would be seriously interested in pursuing your position.

Current Job title: AFLAC Employee Benefits Consultant (Producer) Licensed 11/2015 with approximately 24 months experience.

Post-doctoral training:

Research Fellow, Infectious Diseases and Pharmacokinetics, University of Minnesota in conjunction with St. Paul-Ramsey Medical Center (now Regions Hospital) 1982-1984.

Six publications from fellowship period and provided clinical services to the Burn Center and Surgical Intensive Care Unit. Directed contract research with pharmaceutical companies and was responsible for record keeping. Provided lectures to students in the Pharmacy School.

Professional Experience:

1982-1984 -- University of Minnesota, Research Fellow

1984 -1992 -- University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, College of Pharmacy, Assistant Professor (promoted and tenured to Associate Professor)

Continued research efforts by obtaining grants, contracted research and working with the Infectious Diseases Division and the Cardiology Division of the Department of Medicine. I also worked with the Department of Laboratory Services in conjunction with the Department of Pathology at University Hospital (UAMS) in research efforts.

1992-1996 -- Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science (now University of the Sciences in Philadelphia) Assistant Professor promoted to Associate Professor 1995. Continued research efforts were compromised by illness of one of my children.

1996-1999 SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals, Assistant Product Information Manager – antivirals and antimicrobial agents. Worked with Regulatory Affairs and the Medical Department with review of research, protocols, IND submissions, approval of marketing materials, and providing product information including composition of letters to physicians and other health care professionals. Worked with a Main Frame computer system and worked through the introduction of a new computer system with multiple platform problems that needed to be found and patched. With resolution of illness in one of my children, returned to patient care activities.

1999-2012 --Crozer-Chester Medical Center, the Nathan Speare Regional Burn Treatment Center, Specialist, Burn Care – provided both direct patient care and data collection for research activities including statistical analysis and composition of tables and graphs. Clinical activities included monitoring antibiotic susceptibility and directing antibiotic use in response, pain management and sedation assessment of burn patients, daily rounding with the burn team, nursing and pharmacy education, including continuing education with credits.

Activity relevant to the position

Consultant for Clinical Research, Crozer-Chester Medical Center post early retirement until January 2015 –

Edited, reviewed, and added tables and graphs to submitted posters and publications from EXCEL program. Co-ordinated and kept research and manuscript management on schedule. Submitted publications online and submitted revisions following agreement of all authors. Attended professional meetings and presented both platform presentations and posters representing the physicians and others as the spokesperson for the project. Submitted quarterly reports to the Department of Defense with regard to contracted work. Reviewed and critiqued projects for consideration of our research efforts based on our ability to accomplish them and the talent we had available to accomplish the projects in a timely manner.

Authored or co-authored 46 scientific publications and over 60 scientific abstracts as platform presentations with slides or poster presentations. Experienced with MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Office

Interests: photography, drawing, gardening, snorkeling, writing.

Additional skills:

Have some reading knowledge of Russian and Cyrillic alphabet

Speak some German – but rusty

In process of learning Spanish – own a vacation home in Puerto Rico – not fully fluent yet

Read and understand Latin
