During this time of training & mentoring I spent one month of time (October 2003) being mentored at the Georgetown Toyota Manufacturing facility located in Georgetown Kentucky.

Responsible for complete business operations with direct reporting relationship to Owner and accountability of $8 million dollar annual operation.

Operational overview includes Business Development, Business Organizational Skills, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen & Business Analysis.

Direct reports include a Quality Manager, 2 Quality Engineers, a Shipping/Receiving Manager, 4 Supervisors (aerospace & automotive) and an Office Manager.

Safety: Achieved 31% reduction in Total Recordable injuries from 1998 to 2000.

Productivity: Realized 19% increase in productivity from 1998 to 2000.

Achieved 16% reduction in product flow time through primary and secondary operations via visual strategic store management and use of Kanban. The direct effect was improved internal and external customer performance and satisfaction. Inventory turns improved from 7.5 days to 13.5 days.

Led and coached Toyota Production System implementation for primary operating location in Kentucky, and provide A.B.S. technical support to sister plants in Michigan and Norway.

Engaged production operators in standardized work experience resulting in the implementation of a flexible manpower line that increased manufacturing capacity by 26%. Achieved $890K in cost savings directly related to implementation of Employee Suggestion Program in 2004.

Achieved 47% reduction in inventory, O.E.E. improvement from 54% to 68% from 2003 to 2004 while maintaining 100% on-time delivery performance.

Achieved total $1.78 million in annual cost savings through ABS implementation activities and practices during 2004 business year.
