Draper Valley Farms is wholly owned by Perdue Farms and consists of several distinct operations: poultry processing plant, feed-mill, hatchery and live poultry grow-out – total 600 associates.

Responsible for all financial and cost reporting; payroll, cost accounting, general accounting. Other areas of responsibility:

Prepare weekly financial forecasts and provide analysis of variances to plan/forecast

Development of annual operating budget.

Development of quarterly forecasts – rolling 12 month

Prepare financial justifications for capital expenditure requests (CER).

Provide cost analysis as required to support operations

Month-end financial review and variance analysis (actual results vs plan/forecast)

Review and approve all monthend close journal entries and activities

Review and approve all balance sheet reconciliations.

Facilitate monthly management review of operational results:

Through FI, the plant has achieved varied levels of productivity improvement ranging from 10 to 20% and labor costs reduction of 15% as compared to 2005 year-end results.

Part of BEST OF CLASS (BOC) 4 member team for Smurfit-Stone charged with the responsibility of evaluating the performance of 35 plants in 10 weeks and making recommendations for productivity improvements through capital investments, systems implementation, sharing of best practices and labor force reductions.
