As inventory manager I manage and control all inventory transactions. and I am Responsible for accurate and timely replenishment of stock items in assigned areas. Work closely with my “customers” to prepare for “peaks and valleys” in usage. Determine realistic 30-day levels through reports, graphs, and constant monitoring of usage for each item. Regularly scan inventories and upload data. Execute reports i.e. stock status, days of stock on hand, emergency stock levels, adjustment vouchers, and due-ins and inactive items listing to achieve acceptable turnover rates. Runs reports weekly and a large summary of data at the end of the month. Analyzes data between several data bases as an inventory manager.

I Perform Accountable Officer duties on daily basis: evaluated supply requests for appropriateness of needs, proper funding and correct method of filling, i.e., Warehouse stock, GSA, excess, other government agencies, processed to the proper activity. I as inventory manager purchase orders are tracked by keeping logs from beginning to completion of the purchase order.

As Inventory manager I perform a wide variety of highly complex duties directed towards ensuring the effective and efficient operations of the service. As Item manager I plan and carry out duties independently, using guidelines to assist in accomplishing the work; where guidelines are not clearly applicable, I apply and adapts guidelines, such as supervisor’s policies, to specify problems. Responsible for coordinating and processing information into and out of my area of supply responsibility. Has a complete familiarity with understanding of all phases of the work in the service. Maintains smooth continuity of operations despite many interruptions and requests from the various clinics directly involved in patient care functions. In performance of my duties as Medical Clerk/Administrative support Assistant for five years. I obtained a vast amount of knowledge of policies and procedures regarding Medical Administrative Service. While working in the emergency room/Ambulatory Care and Processing area I completed various duties as assigned by my supervisor. I was responsible for depositing patient’s funds. I was required to notify the next of kin in the event of an emergency. I obtain surgical consent for emergency procedures. I arranged transportation for patients requiring an emergency transfer. In the event of the patient’s death, I obtain all consents, complete necessary forms, and if requested, contact the chaplain. I was required to make independent administrative decisions on a daily basis. I handled incoming calls, long distance, FTS, and emergency calls. I use the paging system to contact medical personnel. I have a thorough knowledge of the organization of patient consolidated health records and the relationship of their components in order to review records for eligibility and to extract medical information relevant to patient treatment. Oral communication with a veteran is the most effective way to gather data. Information such as dates of service, veteran insurance, if the veteran was wounded, where the veteran served, family members, and annual income. All of this information and more is required to make the proper determinations for service-connected disability means test/co-payment status, and eligibility for general medical/dental services. For a physician to determine the disability of a patient all ancillary testing must be done to complete the process and determine the illness of the patient. As Secretary for Social Work Service for 5 years, I processed all paper work for hiring and terminating staff, promotions, performance appraisals, and awards. I provide guidance to service chiefs and administrative staff relative to personnel management policies and procedures, e.g., processing promotions, performance appraisals and awards. I reviewed all personnel actions routed through the Chief of Social Work Service for accuracy and completeness. I independently gather information by interpreting policies and procedures. This required knowledge of time and leaves regulations and coding of time and leaves for General Schedule and Title 38 employees.

The records must be disclosed when requested under FOIA authority to withhold the records. Where a FOIA exemption permits withholding the records, the VHA cannot release the records in response to the FOIA request.
